The Live Oak School District was established in 1872 and currently serves approximately 1,700 students in three elementary schools, one middle school, one K-8 independent charter school, and one alternative school. The student population is 50% Hispanic, 31% White, 19% Other, 30% English learner, and 60% Socioeconomically disadvantaged.</p> <p>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Gives instruction to elementary school aged children in beginning music education, including reading music, music appreciation and instrumental music. Selects current materials in order to find and develop music programs which are suited for children of varying abilities and interests. Selects, edits and may arrange orchestrations to confom to the musical abilities of the pupils. Provides classroom demonstrations of various instruments as appropriate. Organizes and presents instrumental music programs. Confers with principals to plan the music education program.
