<p>Overview</p> <p>Licensed Practical Nurse, CWHN LeConte</p> <p>FullTime, 75 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift</p> <p>At LeConte Women's Healthcare Associates, we specialize in the treatment of the whole female patient across all stages of life - from birth control education, healthy hormone management, and annual exams to guiding you on your pregnancy journey. With more than 60 years of combined medical experience, our expert healthcare team is ready to provide you with excellent care. For women facing a high-risk pregnancy, we partner with the perinatologists at Fort Sanders Perinatal Center. We're located at LeConte Medical Center and are proud to be a member of Covenant Health.</p> <p>At Fort Sanders Perinatal Center, we're here for women with pregnancies that require extra care, and we're ready to help you make the best healthcare decisions from conception through delivery. For more than 25 years, we've provided comprehensive high-risk pregnancy services and delivered over 26,000 high-risk babies at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. We offer a range of care services for higher-risk pregnancies, including mothers over age 35, multiples, complications, birth defects, issues such as diabetes or hypertension, or pregnancies after infertility.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The LPN/LVN II will provide nursing care under supervision of a registered nurse, within an assigned unit.</p> <p>Recruiter: Sarah Grey || sgrey1@covhlth.com || 865-374-5271</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Initiates admission database and history, and in collaboration with the RN implements patient and family teaching and care needs. </li><li>Practices in compliance with all regulatory standards and adheres to all hospital policy and procedures in the performance of duties. </li><li>Performs and prioritizes nursing care tasks. </li><li>Accurately follows the nursing plan of care and pertinent medical orders in collaboration and under direction of a RN. </li><li>Observes and reports nursing interventions and patient responses, and documents in a timely, concise and legible manner. </li><li>Recognizes, responds and reports changes in patient conditions to RN Team Leader. </li><li>Participates in unit specific quality assurance activities and patient care conferences as requested. </li><li>Demonstrates principles of infection control; collaborates with infection control nurse to ensure safety of patients, visitors, and personnel. </li><li>Assists in orienting new employees or students to unit routines. </li><li>Administers IV venipuncture and parenteral fluids per established hospital protocol. </li><li>Performs specific advanced patient care treatments as approved to perform per hospital protocol. </li><li>Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served. </li><li>Strives to achieve high customer satisfaction by using Journey to Excellence tactics including but not limited to, AIDET, bedside shift report, purposeful hourly rounding, careboard completion, narrating the care, etc. </li><li>Responsible for covering call shifts on regularly scheduled basis. </li><li>Responsible for creating and maintaining employee schedules for the facility. </li><li>Trains Medical Assistants on satellite office coverage. </li><li>Responsible for the daily performance management of assigned employees including performance discussion, corrective action, etc. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Education:</p> <p>None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.</p> <p>Minimum Experience:</p> <p>Must have a minimum of six (6) months experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse; and have successfully completed an IV therapy course developed from the Infusion Nurse Society Standards; or have a minimum of six (6) months experience as a LPN/LVN and have documented proof of having successfully completed a formal institutional/agency-based intravenous therapy training and competency program prior to January 1, 2007 or if after 2007, have completed a formal IV therapy program based on the current INS standards.</p> <p>Licensure Requirement:</p> <p>Currently licensed by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse.</p>
