<p>THE POSITION</p> <p>Do you have experience operating heavy equipment and are seeking a fulfilling career in public service? We are looking for an ambitious operator to join our Central Supply Section where you will have the opportunity to ensure areas are stocked with enough supplies to ensure efficiency of our operations. Apply today to become an integral part of our department!</p> <p>DESCRIPTION OF WORK</p> <p>As an Equipment Operator B, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering supplies to various troops and bureaus throughout the state. Your duties will include driving trucks and vans of various sizes and operating equipment such as forklifts and floor jacks to load and unload these vehicles. Additionally, you will be in charge of maintaining mileage records, scheduling maintenance, and ensuring all vehicles are up to date with state inspections. This role also requires the ability to make informed decisions regarding the proper loading of trucks to determine which items need to be returned from troops. It is essential to have a thorough understanding of state laws relating to weight limits to ensure compliance and safety while operating the equipment.</p> <p>Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.</p> <p>Work Schedule and Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Full-time employment </li><li>Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. </li><li>Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. </li><li>Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,560.00 (before taxes). </li><li>You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A; or </li><li>Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; or </li><li>Any equivalent combination of experience or training. </li></ul> <p>Special Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>You must possess a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license. </li></ul> <p>Conditions of Employment:</p> <ul> <li>This position requires possession of a Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with the air brake restriction removed. </li><li>Hazmat endorsement on Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with air brake restriction removed will be required within 6 months of being hired. </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>You must be able to perform essential job functions. </li></ul> <p>Legal Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file. </li><li>A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening. </li><li>You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements. </li></ul> <p>How to Apply:</p> <ul> <li>Resumes, cover letters, and similar documents will not be reviewed, and the information contained therein will not be considered for the purposes of determining your eligibility for the position.
