This role leads the SOC team, exercises independent judgment during security monitoring and incident response activities, and acts as management's representative during security events and escalations. The SOC Manager ensures the SOC operates as a reliable, disciplined, and mature function aligned with organizational risk tolerance, and is accountable for operational outcomes rather than solely technical execution.</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in cybersecurity operations, security monitoring, incident response, or a closely related operational environment where cybersecurity risk was a primary concern. * </li><li>At least two (2) years of experience exercising operational leadership in cybersecurity contexts, such as directing or coordinating response activities during security incidents, serving as a lead responder or escalation point, or guiding other staff during cybersecurity events. </li><li>Experience with applying cybersecurity-specific judgment to assess threats, determine appropriate response actions, and distinguish material security incidents from background operational or technical noise. </li><li>Experience operating within defined incident response or security operations procedures, including adherence to standards, escalation protocols, and post-incident review or improvement activities. </li></ul> <p>SUBSTITUTIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree or higher in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field may substitute on a year for year basis for the required experience. </li></ul> </li></ul> <p>PREFERENCES:</p> <ul> <li>Direct experience participating in or leading cybersecurity incident response efforts, including serving as an incident lead, coordinator, or primary escalation point. </li><li>Experience working with security monitoring or detection capabilities such as SIEM, EDR, XDR, log analysis, or alert triage from an operational or leadership perspective. </li><li>Experience distinguishing cybersecurity incidents from system performance issues, user error, or non-security operational events. </li><li>Experience improving SOC or incident response maturity, such as reducing alert noise, refining detection logic, improving response workflows, or leading post-incident analysis. </li><li>Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GCIA, or comparable cybersecurity credentials. </li><li>Experience in regulated, mission-critical, or high-reliability environments where cybersecurity incidents had operational or legal impact. </li><li>Experience making risk-based decisions during active cybersecurity incidents with incomplete or evolving information. </li></ul> <p>SPECIAL NOTES:</p> <ul> <li>Position is located in Tallahassee, Florida and is not eligible for telework. </li><li>The tentative salary for this position is $87,000. </li><li>This position is considered mission essential and may require non-standard work hours. </li></ul> <p>SALARY: $57,457.68 - $87,000.00</p> <p>BENEFITS:</p> <p>Benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance, life insurance, tuition waivers, paid sick and personal leave, paid parental leave, 10 paid holidays annually, retirement savings, and vision and dental insurance.</p> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW</p> <p>CONTACT INFORMATION: Alyssa Stevens, (850) 717-6424, Alyssa.Stevens@floridarevenue.com.</p> <p>SCREENING DISCLAIMER: Your responses to qualifying questions must be verifiable by skills and/or experiences you stated on your candidate profile and/or resume.</p> <p>SKILLS VERIFICATION TEST OR ONLINE SKILLS ASSESSMENT: If you meet the minimum job requirements, we might require you to take a skills verification test or an online skills assessment to be considered for an interview.</p> <p>CANDIDATE POOL: Future vacancies may be filled from this advertisement for a period of up to six months.</p> <p>CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS: You will be required to undergo a National Level-2 criminal background check which requires you to provide your fingerprints.</p> <p>REMINDER: Male candidates born on or after October 1, 1962, will not be eligible for hire or promotion unless they are registered with the Selective Services System (SSS) before their 26th birthday or have a Letter of Registration Exemption from the SSS.
