Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. Working here will make you feel like you're part of a family that works together to make a difference and help nourish millions of families around the world.</p> <p>What You'll Work On</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead efforts required to deliver the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) performance for the shift/line of accountability. Coach and direct individuals in delivering EHS performance for themselves, their team and department.</p> </li><li> <p>Model behaviors that support a continuously improving EHS culture by engaging with employees and other key stakeholders to ensure all EHS requirements are met, inclusive of internal and external regulatory objectives and direction.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare for and actively participate in internal and external EHS audits and incident/accident investigation and reporting; ensure timely implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).</p> </li><li> <p>Lead efforts required to deliver quality and compliance performance for the shift/line of accountability. Coach and direct individuals to deliver performance required for QA, for themselves, their team and department.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare for and actively participate in internal and external Quality audits and incident investigation and reporting; ensure timely implementation of CAPAs.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead the operation of the plant analytical and incoming materials QA laboratories, comprised of the following functions:</p> </li><li> <p>Raw material, in process, finished product testing, and equipment swabs</p> </li><li> <p>Methods and procedures are appropriately followed</p> </li><li> <p>CAPA activities are followed through to completion</p> </li><li> <p>Provide direction and technical expertise to analytical and incoming materials laboratory personnel and to the plant.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide leadership during problem-solving situations related to analytical and product issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Comply with division and plant procedures and policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Model a thorough understanding of what drives product costs, profitability and cash flow for the shift and within the department, while operating within budget material utilization and CIP goals. Manage budget accountability for headcount, OT, and direct expenses for a shift and/or line. Track, trend and continuously improve budgetary performance for headcount, OT, direct expenses, scrap and CIPs.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead efforts required to deliver financial specific performance metrics. Coach and direct individuals and teams to deliver direct financial performance including waste management, OT and controllable direct expenses that supports the plant financial goals. Model a thorough understanding of what drives product costs, profitability and cash flow within the shift, team and department, while operating within budget with a focus on margin, material utilization and CIP goals. Train others in this understanding for operator engagement and involvement in cost management. Manage financial statements and budgetary responsibilities; share accountability for line budgetary decisions with direct manager.</p> </li><li> <p>Track, trend, and continuously improve budgetary performance for OT, direct expenses, labor, downtime, year-over-year CIP and material usage. Lead efforts to identify and deliver cost reduction of 3-5% v. previous year financials for the team/ department.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the development of department budgets and standards, including preparation of updates and CIP projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Financial management and accountability up to $5 MM USD.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead efforts required to deliver specific productivity performance metrics. Coach and direct individuals and teams to deliver productivity performance improvements in personnel utilization, lean lab principles, OT and controllable direct expenses that impact lab productivity. Model and drive continuous improvement programs utilizing operational excellence and common tools (e.g., Lean, Root Cause Analysis (RCA)) and methodologies in processes and procedures within the department.</p> </li><li> <p>Actively plan and organize the day-to-day laboratory operations and schedules.</p> </li><li> <p>Anticipate, lead, and drive proper alignment and prioritization between the lab and production.</p> </li><li> <p>Model the organization's values by providing effective leadership, direction, development, and support of the team.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure team members are trained and understand duties, responsibilities, and performance relative to established expectations.</p> </li><li> <p>Draft own goals, and lead the development of team goals and growth planning. Create a learning environment and support individuals' learning and development plans.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist manager in the development of strategic and tactical goal development for the department and teams that align with business site strategies and goals.
