Serving as an expert on Old Dominion University's graduate degree requirements, the advisor meets with a diverse student population individually and in groups to guide course selection and registration, resolve academic or administrative issues, explore educational and career pathways, and connect students with appropriate campus resources. The advisor monitors academic progress, conducts individualized outreach to students experiencing academic difficulty, implements data-driven retention initiatives, and maintains accurate advising records while adhering to Graduate School and university policies.
