<p>We are seeking an enthusiastic SRE to join our dynamic IT Manufacturing Site Reliability Engineering (ITMFG-SRE) team at Tesla. Our team is responsible for building and managing an ecosystem of applications and platforms essential to manufacturing. As a Linux SRE, this role requires experience with hardware, software, networking, and automation to implement scalable solutions for manufacturing sites globally. You'll play a key role in maintaining, optimizing and scaling our infrastructure to support a growing fleet of manufacturing devices leveraging the Tesla Factory Image (TFI) for Linux to run business-critical applications.</p> <ul> <li>Support TFI and feature development across multiple Ubuntu versions to ensure a reliable & secure Linux image </li><li>Create, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support Linux provisioning across our factories globally </li><li>Implement automated and scalable solutions for a variety of use-cases in manufacturing </li><li>Support and manage our ecosystem of applications </li><li>Develop and manage Ansible playbooks </li><li>Configure PXE-based provisioning workflows </li><li>Enhance and maintain our Observability stack </li><li>Respond effectively to incidents by identifying root causes and developing solutions </li><li>Collaborate with other teams using our Linux image </li><li>Handle preventative maintenance and create documentation on processes and features </li><li>Experience with Virtualization (vSphere) and Containerization (Docker & Kubernetes) </li><li>Expert skills in Linux and its administration (Ubuntu 16.04 - 24.04 LTS) </li><li>Understanding of networking (Routing/Switching, VLANs, Firewalls, and Load Balancers) </li><li>Experience in a high-level language such as Go, Python and/or Java is a plus </li><li>Observability (Prometheus, AlertManager, Grafana, Jaeger, and Splunk) </li><li>Infrastructure as Code (Ansible), CI/CD (GitHub Enterprise/Jenkins) & Artifact management (Artifactory) </li><li>Bare-metal imaging experience (Ubuntu netboot PXE) </li><li>Strong bias for action vs endless planning, willing to get hands dirty and make mistakes sometimes </li><li>Habitual documenter and spreader of knowledge; willing to mentor other team members and engineers with less SWE/IT type knowledge </li><li>Comfortable on an on-call rotation </li></ul>
