Finally, being patient-centered, we prioritize the needs and well-being of those we serve, striving to exceed expectations and make a meaningful difference in their lives.</p> <p>A day in the life of this role:</p> <p>Reporting to the Site Medical Director, the Primary Care Physician at Outer Cape Health Services ("OCHS") provides comprehensive and continuing care to patients requiring routine and emergency treatment at health centers or other locations within OCHS's scope of practice, including skilled nursing facilities. Additionally, the incumbent refers patients to other providers as appropriate and provides services in support of health promotion and preventive medicine.</p> <p>Summary of duties:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as part of a clinic team to manage the health of a panel of patients, including regular communication with the team regarding the health of the population managed. </li><li>Supervise other health care professionals such as staff registered nurses, medical assistants, phlebotomists, and other allied health care staff, as appropriate, to ensure the proper delivery of medical care to patients. </li><li>Collaborate with the Medical Director, Practice Manager, and nursing staff regarding the daily schedule. Demonstrate a willingness to accept emergency, urgent, and other walk-in patients and to cooperate with site staff in managing such requests. </li><li>Keep accurate, complete, legible, and timely medical and other records and files as required by OCHS's policy and law. </li><li>Participate in patient care audits for quality assurance and utilization review to maintain and improve patient care standards of excellence. </li><li>May provide administrative management input for staff performance reviews, hiring decisions, and disciplinary issues. </li><li>Participate in the on-call schedule as assigned, including coverage of weekend shifts as needed. </li><li>May participate in coverage for skilled nursing facilities within the scope of practice. </li><li>Maintain knowledge of current developments in specialty to enhance professional expertise, including maintenance of Board Certification if applicable and completing CME as needed to maintain licensure. </li><li>Maintain a good working relationship with other physicians and health care professionals within the Health Center and OCHS administrative and support staff. </li><li>Participate in regular provider and staff meetings as set by the Chief Clinical Officer and site Medical Director. </li><li>Perform other related duties as reasonably required or assigned. </li><li>Ensure that participation in activities outside of the Health Center does not interfere with duties hereunder. </li></ul>
