<p>Summary</p> <p>Provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services under the supervision of a physician.</p> <ul> <li>Obtains patient history and performs assessment. </li><li>Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures. Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions. </li><li>Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources. </li><li>Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care. </li></ul> <p>Required Credential(s):</p> <ul> <li>BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. </li><li>Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. </li><li>Verified by local Credentialing Office. </li><li>Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Master's degree preferred. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Responsible for daily rounding on all in- house patients, outpatients, and surgical first-assist including endoscopic vein/ radial harvest.</p> <p>Additional bedside procedures: chest tube placement, thoracentesis, radial arterial line, central line placement, iabp removal.</p>
