Team members help keep parks, fields, and public areas safe, clean, and welcoming for community use. Daily tasks may include mowing, weeding, raking, trash pickup, field preparation, basic repairs, and other maintenance work. Assignments are provided by park supervisors and field staff. The role runs through the summer and may vary based on weather and operational needs.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>URBAN PARKS</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of properties and parks.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares areas for rentals and events.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in turf maintenance</p> </li><li> <p>Cleans and maintains hardscapes.</p> </li><li> <p>Repairs and removes vandalism.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in maintaining horticulture.</p> </li><li> <p>Removes waste and litter.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in snow removal as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in trail work.</p> </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to perform a wide range of physical and manual tasks in and outdoor environment under a variety of weather conditions.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to evaluate conditions in assigned area and make judgments related to safety.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to provide excellent customer service.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be 18 years of age or older.</p> </li><li> <p>Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain acceptable motor vehicle record.</p> </li><li> <p>Have and maintain acceptable background information, including criminal conviction history.</p> </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Skills in effective interpersonal communication, including conflict resolution..</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to keep accurate records, organize information, supplies and equipment, and follow established procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to operate riding mowers, tractors, truck and trailers, and other landscape equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to provide information and instruction to individuals and groups.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work alone under general supervision</p> </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>Zero to one (0-1) years of customer service experience.</p> </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISION</p> <p>Supervision Received: Landscape & Irrigation Supervisor</p> <p>Supervision Exercised: None</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Physical and mental effort: Ability to perform a wide range of strenuous physical and manual tasks in an outdoor environment. Physical ability to stand, walk, and kneel. Able to use a variety of long handled, manual, and power tools; and to operate equipment while working in and around moving traffic. Upper body strength to lift up to 40 pounds on a daily basis and over 75 pounds on an occasional basis. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities that permits the employee to communicate effectively in person.</p> </li><li> <p>Work Environment: Frequently work outside with exposure to a variety of weather conditions. Works in a setting subject to continuous interruptions and background noises.
