<p>Job Overview: The Director of Technology provides vision, leadership, and management for the effective use of instructional and operational technology across the district. This position will oversee the integration of technology into curriculum and instruction, manage IT infrastructure, and ensure the district meets state and federal data and cybersecurity compliance requirements.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Leadership & Planning</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develop and implement a district-wide technology plan that includes a clear vision, specific goals, identified needs, plans for integration with curricula, objectives along with an estimated budget.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide strategic leadership for integrating technology into curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices across all grade levels.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with district and school administrators to identify and meet educational technology needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential for improving district performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and technology procurement.</p> </li></ul> <p>Instructional Technology</p> <ul> <li> <p>Support educators in the use of technology to enhance learning outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the selection and implementation of digital learning platforms, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), assessment tools, and student information systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide professional development opportunities in instructional technology for teachers and staff.</p> </li></ul> <p>Infrastructure & Operations</p> <ul> <li> <p>Supervise and support IT staff responsible for network systems, hardware, software, and user support.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage district-wide technology systems, including servers, firewalls, wireless networks, device management, and cloud-based solutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure reliable and secure access to technology resources for students and staff.</p> </li></ul> <p>Data Security & Compliance</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations (e.g., FERPA, CIPA, COPPA).</p> </li><li> <p>Adopt and implement a recognized Cybersecurity Framework in conjunction with a comprehensive Vulnerability Management system to support the IT department's security.</p> </li></ul> <p>Budgeting & Procurement</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develop and manage the technology department budget, including E-rate funding and federal/state grants.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead procurement of hardware, software, and services in accordance with Nebraska state purchasing laws and district policy.</p> </li></ul> <p>Website, Communications, and Building Security</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develop and support the district and building websites.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with others to maintain hardware to support the use of security cameras, door access points, etc.</p> </li></ul> <p>Zone 5</p>
