<p>Workweek</p> <p>40 Hours| Flexible schedule to meet department needs</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under the direction of the Vice President of Academic Affairs / Chief Academic Officer (VPAA/CAO), the Assistant Vice-President of Academic Affairs (AVPAA) provides leadership support to advance student learning and success, equity, and continuous improvement in a collaborative environment. The AVPAA will champion student learning by providing administrative leadership in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the instructional and academic support programs of the College. Working closely with the VPAA/CAO, the AVPAA will also oversee academic support areas and lead a variety of college-wide initiatives. The AVPAA is the operational arm of the division and will work closely with deans, staff, administrators, and faculty to ensure that the College meets all curriculum offerings and requirements, assessment, accreditation, contractual obligations, and strategic goals.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities</p> <p>Provide leadership support in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating college resources, initiatives, and programs that impact instruction and student success.</p> <ul> <li>Provide strategic oversight to academic programming: Phi Theta Kappa, First Year College Experience, Learning Communities, Study Abroad, and Curriculum, Articulation and Transfer. </li><li>Work closely with the academic deans and instructional areas to provide leadership in curriculum development and in the articulation and transfer of academic programs. </li><li>Oversee the Center for Teaching and Learning with the goal of providing professional development opportunities and programs that support the technology and pedagogical needs of faculty. </li><li>Oversee the College and Career Readiness office by working with the county's high schools and the College faculty to ensure quality and equivalency of dual credit offerings that are compliant with federal and state legislations. </li><li>Provide oversight of the Adult Education program, ensuring program quality and accountability. </li><li>Ensure compliance with the Higher Learning Commission curricular and instructional requirements. </li><li>Work with the Institutional Research Office to recommend program development, modification, and sunsetting based on program review and other program assessment methods. </li><li>Provide leadership with assistance in establishing budget priorities for the Academic Affairs. </li><li>Provide administration of federal and state grants in Academic Affairs, including but not limited to Perkins, ensuring compliance, developing external partnerships, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, implementing strategic initiatives, and budgeting. </li><li>Supervise and evaluate all programs and personnel for which the AVPAA has direct responsibility. </li><li>Work collaboratively with Student Affairs and other areas of the college to meet strategic, enrollment management, student success, and other institutional goals. </li><li>Serve on various College committees and participate in shared governance activities. </li><li>Work collaboratively with the Associate Vice-President of Workforce Development, and internal and external stakeholders on various workforce and other institutional initiatives. </li><li>Support and participate in the College's commitment to continuous improvement. </li><li>Promote diversity, inclusion, and equitable practices. </li><li>Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in one of the division's disciplines</p> <ul> <li>Evidence of increasing levels of administrative responsibilities </li><li>Evidence of effective, data-driven project management experience </li><li>Experience with employee supervision and evaluation </li><li>Three years of leadership experience directly managing employees </li></ul>
