Our expertise extends into a full-range of industries - from healthcare and manufacturing to education, government, financial institutions, and more.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>IKM Building Solutions</p> <p>Job Title: Building Automation Systems (BAS) Programmer</p> <p>Location: West Allis, WI</p> <p>Schedule: Full-Time | Monday - Friday</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>About the Role</p> <p>We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Building Automation Systems (BAS) Programmer to design, develop, and support building automation systems using company tools and operating protocols. This role plays a key part in delivering efficient, reliable, and scalable building control solutions across commercial environments.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Under the direction of the General Manager, the BAS Programmer will:</p> <ul> <li>Program DDC modules to meet precise sequences of operation </li><li>Configure and integrate systems across multiple vendors using open and proprietary platforms </li><li>Develop system databases for reporting, alarming, and monitoring </li><li>Design intuitive graphical interfaces (HMI) for end-user interaction </li><li>Follow departmental standards for programming, naming conventions, graphics and backups </li><li>Analyze project specifications and design BAS solutions accordingly </li><li>Support installed systems through troubleshooting and service work </li><li>Assist with product selection, system design, and cost-effective solution development </li><li>Prepare submittals, schedules and turnover documentation </li><li>Serve as a technical resource for internal teams and customers </li><li>Participate in job site walkthroughs, including critical environments </li><li>Design complex BAS network architectures integrating systems via LON, Ethernet, Modbus, or BACnet </li><li>Generate DDC point databases and startup documentation </li><li>Support commissioning and validation processes </li><li>Maintain organized project documentation and job files </li><li>Create clear, functional HMI screens for complex systems </li><li>Perform field work as needed, including system startup and checkout </li><li>Collaborate with team members and participate in departmental meetings </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>4+ years of experience with HVAC systems and building controls in commercial environments </li><li>Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and system operations </li><li>Proven experience in programming, system startups, commissioning and troubleshooting </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED required (with relevant experience), or </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred) </li></ul> <p>Technical Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) </li><li>AutoCAD knowledge is a plus </li><li>Strong BAS programming and integration experience </li></ul> <p>Communication</p> <ul> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and clients </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills</p> <ul> <li>Highly organized with strong attention to detail </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines </li><li>Independent design capability for medium to large, complex projects </li><li>Ability to perform onsite system startup and checkout </li><li>Must demonstrate integrity and the ability to handle sensitive and proprietary information </li></ul> <p>Work Environment & Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Mix of office and fieldwork at construction sites and facilities </li><li>Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions, mechanical equipment, and construction environments </li><li>May require standing, walking, climbing, or working in confined or elevated spaces </li><li>Ability to operate computers, drafting tools and standard office equipment </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us?</p> <p>At IKM Building Solutions, we value innovation, precision, and collaboration.
