This position will represent Energy Trust in public settings and potentially at community events. We are open to candidates who live throughout Oregon and Washington. The Sector Lead - Commercial would be expected to report to the office on a quarterly basis, at a minimum.</p> <p>What We're Looking For:</p> <p>This position is responsible for managing the Energy Trust Commercial Sector energy efficiency staff, budget, and programs. This position provides strategic direction to the commercial staff to achieve utility territory energy savings targets, manage program budgets, and program delivery contractors. The Sector Lead is responsible for organizational development within their sectors and driving high performance.</p> <p>This individual reports to the Assistant Director, Energy Programs</p> <p>This position is expected to report to the Portland office quarterly, at a minimum, for all staff and other in-person meetings. Travel may include occasional regional travel when appropriate to fully understand stakeholders, customers and markets served by Energy Trust.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Provides leadership in planning, organizing, and managing the development and implementation of all Energy Trust Commercial Sector energy efficiency programs and initiatives. </li><li>Provide strategic direction to commercial, municipal, and institutional related programs, translating organizational direction to clear deliverables including: </li><li>Defining the structure of market approaches to achieve savings </li><li>Designing the structure of program management and delivery contracting to achieve savings targets </li><li>Cross-sector and cross-department coordination and collaboration </li><li>Guiding program managers to respond to market changes, define new directions or develop initiatives as appropriate </li><li>Guiding program managers in developing programs for priority customers, such as small business and multi-family/renters. </li><li>Oversee multi-year Commercial sector budgets in excess of $60 million/year; Oversee budget development, ensuring budgets are allocated in accordance with regulation and Board guidance. </li><li>Organizational development and leadership of a high-performing team. </li><li>Hire, direct, mentor, and motivate Commercial sector staff, including direct supervision. </li><li>Perform fiduciary oversight to ensure programs and delivery contractors are performing within regulations and board approved budgets and policies. </li><li>Ensure Commercial sector alignment with Energy Trust multi-year goals. </li><li>Work on behalf of Energy Trust, in coordination with senior management, to provide thought leadership to inform prioritization of internal, strategic initiatives. </li><li>Responsible for sector reporting activities and presenting information to Executive team, the Board of Directors, legislators, and other external parties. </li><li>Ensure effective and positive inter-department collaboration and activity coordination, with a focus of best serving customers. </li><li>Lead the negotiation of complex, multi-year contracts and oversee sector program contracting process. This includes ensuring the proper execution of RFP processes, developing scopes of work, soliciting bids, negotiating, and finalizing contracts, and execution of the contract through staff. </li><li>Represent Energy Trust interests with national, state, and regional stakeholders, and regularly give persuasive presentations at public events. </li><li>Provide input and direction for organization as requested by the executive management team. </li><li>Ensure appropriate participation in and responses to program evaluations and measure-level, benefit-cost analyses. </li><li>Perform other job-related duties as assigned. </li><li>Perform all functions of the job in a safe manner. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY</p> <ul> <li>Supervise and develop Commercial Sector managers and support staff. </li><li>Provide mentoring and support to senior level managers in managing staff. </li><li>Provide strategic oversight to contract managers in managing contractors. </li><li>Participate in hiring process for sector staff. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Need:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent professional experience. </li><li>8-10 years of experience in the energy industry overseeing portfolio or program strategy, development, oversight, budgets, and management. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in managing budgets greater than $25 million. Experience in energy efficiency programs and/or utility experience preferred. </li><li>6 years managing staff or cross-functional teams and negotiating and managing complex contracts. </li><li>Demonstrated ability in business financial analyses, including constructing and applying investment criteria, payback rules, and modeling. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to define strategic markets and develop program goals, actions, approaches, and key indicators. </li><li>Knowledge and experience with analyses of energy efficiency measures for savings, costs, and cost-benefit metrics. </li><li>Strong analytical, writing, and communications skills. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and personnel management skills. </li><li>Ability to define, direct and utilize technology and market analyses. </li><li>Experience operating in and understanding a highly regulated industry </li></ul> <p>The above information is designed to outline the major functions and position requirements of this job.
