<p>Actalent is hiring an entry-level Lab Technician in Wheat Ridge!</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Join our Wheat Ridge, CO laboratory as an entry-level Lab Technician. You will play a crucial role in preparing samples with accuracy and precision according to analytical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Work independently and collaboratively to meet production targets, ensure hold times and turnaround times are met, and uphold safe laboratory practices.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Independently prepare samples for analysis according to analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies after appropriate training. </li><li>Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of preparation instruments and equipment. </li><li>Assist with validation and Method Detection Limit (MDL) studies as needed. </li><li>Input and maintain technical information to support laboratory functions and operations. </li><li>Maintain a Laboratory Notebook where applicable. </li><li>Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures. </li><li>Perform other duties as required. </li><li>1st shift duties include light wet chemistry and general chemistry tasks such as pH measurement, conductivity, balance weighing, filtering, reagent preparation, hot blocking, and digestions. </li><li>2nd shift duties include sample intake, handling, weighing of soil samples (unpacking), digestions, and monitoring of instrumentation. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma (Required) </li><li>English language proficiency (Required) </li><li>Basic mathematical skills (Required) </li><li>Basic reasoning skills and abilities (Required) </li><li>Basic computer skills (Required) </li><li>Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull upwards of 25 lbs frequently (Required) </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associate's Degree in Chemistry or a similar scientific discipline (Preferred) </li><li>1-2 years of relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories (Preferred) </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This role is based in a high-volume, production-oriented environmental laboratory. The work is project-oriented and deadline-driven, serving various clients. The work schedule includes two shifts: 1st shift from Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm with a 1-hour lunch break, and 2nd shift from Monday to Friday, 3pm to 11pm with a 1-hour lunch break. Second shift is eligible for a $1/hour shift differential.
