<p>Kforce is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for a contract opportunity with a large organization in the downtown Kansas City, KS area.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using C# and .NET </li><li>Support and enhance existing applications while contributing to the transition toward serverless architectures </li><li>Build and operate cloud-native, serverless solutions using AWS services </li><li>Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions </li><li>Participate in architectural discussions and help guide best practices for scalability, performance, and security </li><li>Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues across traditional and serverless environments </li><li>Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code* Strong professional experience with C# and .NET (.NET Core/.NET 6+ preferred) </li><li>Solid understanding of backend application design, RESTful APIs, and service-oriented architectures </li><li>Experience supporting cloud-hosted or serverless applications in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) </li><li>Experience working with SQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) </li><li>Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and modern CI/CD practices </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment </li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience with AWS (our primary cloud platform) </li><li>Experience building and operating AWS Lambda functions </li><li>Experience designing workflows using AWS Step Functions </li><li>Familiarity with additional AWS services such as API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, or EventBridge </li><li>Experience with JavaScript and/or modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular, or Node.js </li><li>Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform) </li><li>Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability in cloud environments </li></ul>
