<p>Current Employees: If you are currently employed at any of the Universities of Wisconsin, log in to Workday to apply through the internal application process.</p> <p>Position Title:</p> <p>Facilities Technician III</p> <p>Job Category:</p> <p>University Staff</p> <p>Employment Type:</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Job Profile:</p> <p>Facilities Technician III</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Utilizes specialized equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation </li><li>Performs routine and non-routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness </li><li>Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies and procedures </li><li>Receives, inspects, inventories, and distributes deliveries independently to appropriate entities </li><li>Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed </li><li>This position will be primarily building maintenance but will also occasionally support the facilities team on grounds maintenance and assist intermittently with custodial support. </li><li>This position will primarily perform facilities work at the Falcon Center complex but will occasionally work with the facilities team on other campus buildings. </li></ul> <p>Key Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Receives, inspects, inventories, and distributes deliveries to appropriate entities under general supervision </li><li>Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies and procedures </li><li>Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed </li><li>Performs routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness </li><li>Utilizes equipment to repair and maintain standard machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation </li></ul> <p>Department:</p> <p>Facilities Maintenance</p> <p>Compensation:</p> <p>The pay rate is $25.50 per hour.</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma.</p> </li><li> <p>Work experience in building maintenance, 2 years minimum.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of building and facilities maintenance methods, practices, and techniques</p> </li><li> <p>Analytical skills necessary to diagnose and correct failures in equipment and related systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to engage in all job-related customer service interactions and activities with contacts from within and outside the University in a courteous and professional manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability for timely communication with styles that are approachable and respectable</p> </li><li> <p>Engage in active listening</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively organize work to be productive.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal direct supervision.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain a valid driver's license that permits Wisconsin certification to drive University vehicles</p> </li><li> <p>Must have sufficient physical flexibility to stoop, crawl under equipment and other low spaces to perform preventive maintenance tasks.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be physically able to lift your arms above your head in order to reach equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding, and work at heights above 30 feet to reach equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights up to 50 lbs.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to enter, exit, and perform duties in confined spaces occasionally.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to utilize a computer for Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Excel, and Word</p> </li><li> <p>Successful completion of a post-offer employment physical test.</p> </li></ul> <p>How to Apply:</p> <p>Applicants are required to apply online.
