<p>Description</p> <p>About the Job</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Hitachi Astemo Americas, Inc. (Findlay Plant) is a Tier 1 supplier of brake systems for automotive and non-automotive applications. The Quality Engineer is responsible for quality assurance activities to insure quality standards for production. This position coordinates with: Operations, Customers and Suppliers, Sales, other Engineering personnel, Technicians and Corporate support.</p> <p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>__</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>Essential Functions and Duties:</p> <ul> <li>PPAP process (Establishing requirements, gathering documentation, Validating the process and final approval). </li><li>Developing Control Plans and FMEAs. </li><li>Understanding of CPK and CP / able to interpret data. </li><li>Working knowledge of the IATF16949 technical standard. </li><li>Knowledge of establishing process controls (Poke yokes, Check frequencies, etc.). </li><li>Establish layered audits / Perform audits of processes (internal). </li><li>Experience working with Automotive OEMs (in-person, on phone and via Email). </li><li>Understanding of Blue print tolerance. </li><li>Working knowledge of measurement tools (Calipers, Micrometers and general hand gauges). </li><li>Ability to use a CMM, Faro arm or other programmable measurement device. </li><li>Ability to organize data to make recommended action to senior management </li><li>Formal problem solving experience (5P / 8D or equivalent). </li><li>Supervise a team of 4+ associates on 3 shifts </li><li>Work with production team on continual improvement activity related to cost reduction </li></ul> <p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>__</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>3-5 years of experience in manufacturing with strong familiarity of automotive quality. </li><li>Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills. </li><li>Motivated, self starter with the ability to perform duties with minimal supervision. </li><li>Computer literate with Microsoft Office </li></ul> <p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>__</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Basic Knowledge of assembly process. </li><li>Basic knowledge of machining process. </li><li>Basic Knowledge of Aluminum Casting process </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE)-Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities</p> <p>At Astemo, we're challenging the status quo with the power of diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.
