<p>About the Opportunity</p> <p>Summary and Responsibility</p> <p>The Department of Music in the College of Arts, Media and Design, Northeastern University seeks a part-time instructor to teach a course titled "Introduction to Songwriting." The description of the course follows below. This course will be offered on-line and asynchronously during Northeastern's summer II semester (June 30-August 18, 2025). The class will be capped at 25.</p> <p>MUSC 2210. Introduction to Songwriting. (4 Hours)</p> <p>Offers an opportunity to learn to construct songs with forward motion and memorable "hooks."Topics include time-proven song forms, melody writing, harmonic tools, lyric writing, collaboration, and production techniques. Emphasizes the craft of writing songs for use in film and television.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>PhD is preferred or equivalent professional experience. Previous teaching experience at the college level and a broad knowledge of Humanities is highly desirable.</p> <p>Northeastern University will not provide H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, or any other type of employment visa sponsorship for the successful applicant to this position, now or in the future.
