Cayuga Health's commitment to our employees includes competitive compensation, comprehensive employee benefits programs, and the opportunity to explore and build a career in healthcare through our many professional development programs. </p> <p>Summary: The Clinical Staffing Coordinator (CSC) is a key administrative support position in the Clinical Operations Office, reporting to the Director, House Supervisors (future state "Manager, Clinical Operations Office". They are the authority and subject matter expert for the electronic scheduling platform, and a key component of the clinical schedule building process for acute patient care departments, ensuring coverage is balanced across the organization for nursing and nursing support personnel. The CSC also maintains active training and competency documentation for the CHESS Team (float pool) and assists their Director and the Administrative Supervisors with utilizing CHESS to fill open shifts and keep departments operational. The CSC serves as the pay clerk for all Nursing Operations Office personnel and assists their director in closely monitoring all staffing and scheduling functions for the nursing departments to ensure responsible labor costs, nurse to patient ratios, incentive pay usage, and productivity. This role also supports coordination and administrative functions for the New York State Department of Health mandated Clinical Staffing Committee that is led by a designated Administrative Supervisor and comprised of elected front-line nursing and nursing support representatives.</p> <p>Roles and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Serves as the subject matter expert, administrator & training coordinator for the electronic scheduling platform.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for daily review and support of caregiver staffing levels across the acute care nursing departments:</p> </li><li> <p>CMC Emergency Department</p> </li><li> <p>SH Emergency Department</p> </li><li> <p>CMC Medical/Telemetry</p> </li><li> <p>SH Medical/Telemetry</p> </li><li> <p>Short Stay Surgical Unit</p> </li><li> <p>Intensive Care Unit (ICU)</p> </li><li> <p>PMRU (rehabilitation unit)</p> </li><li> <p>Behavioral Science Unit (BSU)</p> </li><li> <p>Post Anesthesia Unit (PACU)</p> </li><li> <p>Receives employee call-offs, updates electronic schedule & coordinates coverage with Admin Supervisor & department leadership</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates department requests for CHESS Team nursing support</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for auditing & correcting electronic time/department records for CHESS Team personnel & staff floated between departments</p> </li><li> <p>Scheduling of Staffing Committee meetings, maintenance of meeting minutes, & coordination of the election process to select department committee representation</p> </li><li> <p>Create & distribute nursing department schedule building templates to department leaders</p> </li><li> <p>Receive house requests for sitter services & coordinates with Admin Supervisor to allocate resources</p> </li><li> <p>Supports the Support-Resource-Respond Nurse (SRRN) program with record keeping providing the Rapid Response & Code Blue Committee with data</p> </li><li> <p>Supports the Code Blue & Rapid Response Committee as needed with scheduling, record keeping, response statistics</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Skills and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Education: High School Diploma (or equivalent) </li><li>2-3 years of experience in a healthcare environment, supporting operations in a medical office, acute care hospital, or emergency services organization </li><li>Strong computer business application & keyboarding knowledge; Experience with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, & Excel required </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate through written and verbal methods </li><li>Experience with creating & maintaining staffing schedules & electronic timekeeping </li><li>Ability to organize and maintain employee credentialing & competency files and records; maintain documentations in a ready state for inspection according to standards </li><li>resource allocation & daily workflows </li><li>Experience with providing services to customers from both inside & outside of their organization. </li><li>Comfortable managing phone requests for services & support </li><li>Ability to adapt competently function in a fast paced & dynamic environment to support 24/7 operations of all clinical areas of the hospitals </li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience & knowledge working with electronic scheduling & payroll systems </li><li>Experience being responsible for the daily operations of a hospital or medical office </li><li>Office manager experience </li><li>Associate or bachelor's degree in business or management related field </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to sit for periods of time to perform data entry </li><li>Ability to move freely around the nursing divisions as needed to gather information </li></ul> <p>Pay Range Disclosure:</p> <ul> <li>$20.50 to $26 per hour </li></ul> <p>Cayuga Health System and its affiliates are committed to treating all patients, providers, staff and volunteers equitably and with dignity, ensuring the highest levels of safety, care and respect, and striving to recognize and overcome biases and policies that contribute to disparities in healthcare access, equitable care and positive health outcomes for all.</p> <p>We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, supporting the growth and health of our employees and community by embracing the rich diversity, needs and circumstances of all peoples and prioritizing opportunities to build a diverse and inclusive workplace.
