<p>We are seeking an R&D Product Development Scientist to join our team at our headquarters in South Jordan, UT.</p> <p>This position requires a drive to innovate and develop new materials in the dental industry. Experience in progressing ideas from concept to prototype and/or managing multiple projects from prototype to production is highly recommended.</p> <p>This person will be working mostly onsite in the South Jordan location, in state candidates will be given first priority.</p> <p>This position will report to the R&D Chemical Development Manager and will join a team of 6 other scientists in this particular part of a larger R&D group.</p> <p>JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Backgrounds in chemistry, material science, chemical engineering, and/or a related field is preferred. </li><li>Develop, improve, and customize products and formulas </li><li>Explore, innovate, and create new chemistries, materials, and technologies </li><li>Design and implement experiments </li><li>Collaborate with a dynamic team to generate new products </li><li>Conduct research and remain current on applicable technologies </li><li>Scale up chemical synthesis and material batches from benchtop to production </li></ul> <p>WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:</p> <ul> <li>B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related scientific field with R&D experience is ideal </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written </li><li>Ability to effectively use computer software including Microsoft Office Suite </li></ul> <p>WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:</p> <ul> <li>Self-driven and motivated </li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude </li><li>Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities </li><li>Ability to effectively use laboratory and processing equipment </li><li>Passion for completing challenging projects </li><li>Strong analytical, deductive, and inductive reasoning abilities </li><li>Be able to work effectively as a part of a multi-functional team </li></ul> <p>Ultradent is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
