<p>The Providence Center DOC is located at the ACI in Cranston, RI.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Providence Center DOC Clinical Therapist Per Diem will conduct psychosocial assessment with criminal offenders who are at the ACI or on home confinement. Position is Per Diem; set your own hours. Averages 8-16 hours per month.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Conduct assessments with criminal offenders who have upcoming parole hearings, as assigned by The RI Parole Board.</p> <p>Perform a comprehensive psychosocial assessment of assigned clients.</p> <p>Treat consumers with respect.</p> <p>Perform in a calm and professional manner during crisis or emergency situations.</p> <p>Apply knowledge of Psychiatric Diagnosis (DSM V).</p> <p>Apply knowledge of criminogenic risk factors.</p> <p>Perform and record mental status examination.</p> <p>Assess clinical emergencies, including suicide and danger to others, and report to appropriate RIDOC personnel.</p> <p>Utilize parole and police reports, and other documents, provided by RI Parole Board.</p> <p>Maintain confidentiality in accordance with Center policy and legal requirements.</p> <p>Develop and present, verbally and in writing, a clear clinical formulation based on behavioral data and relevant theory while incorporating psychosocial and family issues.</p> <p>Use knowledge to determine appropriate treatment recommendations.</p> <p>Collaborate with other providers, agencies, and individuals in the consumers' network .of care.</p> <p>Maintain knowledge and familiarity of mental health and/or substance abuse and other related community agencies.</p> <p>Communicate with RI Parole Board and RIDOC personnel.</p> <p>Perform record keeping in accordance with Health Information Services and other Center requirements.</p> <p>Complete biopsychosocial assessment which will be forwarded to Parole Board administrator via encrypted email.</p> <p>Update Excel spreadsheet which includes information about work performed each month.</p> <p>Attend mandatory in-service trainings and other trainings required for renewal of licensure.</p> <p>Maintain cooperative relationships with Center staff, consumers, RIDOC, and RI Parole Board.</p> <p>Communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.</p> <p>Work in cooperation with supervisory staff and be open to constructive criticism.</p> <p>Meetings with RI Parole Board upon request.</p> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Masters degree in Social Work or related field and clinical experience. LICSW and/or LMHC is required.</p> <p>Ability to write reports and correspondence.</p> <p>Ability to speak effectively with consumers, TPC/CNE, RIDOC, and RI Parole Board employees.</p> <p>LICSW and/or LMHC is required.</p> <p>Position may require driving.
