<p>City : Avondale State : Louisiana (US-LA) Country : United States (US) Requisition Number : 45322</p> <p>A Day in the Life:</p> <p>The Distribution Technician performs tasks associated with the receipt, handling, bulk loading, and shipping of vegetable oil and related ingredients.</p> <p>Position Details:</p> <p>The person in this role will primarily work a twelve-hour rotating shift to include overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends.</p> <p>The starting hourly wage varies from $27 to $32 depending on experience.</p> <p>What You'll Be Doing:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates a commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Loads and unloads railcars, trucks, tank containers, and other bulk methods of transporting oil </li><li>Installs seals, strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit </li><li>Follows written work orders, shipping orders, and other written and oral instructions to determine materials to be moved or shipments to be loaded; Safely performs the related tasks to complete orders. </li><li>Removes samples of materials and oils, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to laboratory for analysis; Checks temperatures of tanks </li><li>Keeps accurate records of inventory (Counts, weights); Verifies, and records units of supplies and raw materials received, movements and shipments; accurately completes appropriate paperwork </li><li>Contains and cleans oil in the event of a spill </li><li>Assists in preparing the plant equipment for startup, shutdown, freeze plans, and hazardous weather conditions </li><li>Performs other duties as needed or assigned </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li><li>Prior experience working and/or training in an industrial setting </li><li>Ability to work independently sometimes without supervision </li><li>Ability to read & understand technical documents </li><li>Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence </li><li>Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Six months of experience in railcar and/or truck loading or related position is preferred </li></ul> <p>At Bunge (NYSE: BG), our purpose is to connect farmers to consumers to deliver essential food, feed and fuel to the world.
