In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.</p> <p>What you will be doing</p> <p>Job Description: Senior Basic Science Research Technician - Salmon Lab</p> <p>Department/Service: Research Institute</p> <p>Job Start Date: mid-April 2025</p> <p>Major Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in management and operations such as managing inventory, streamlining experimental protocols, and training and supervision of junior level researchers or students </li><li>At least 3 years of wet lab experience with expertise in techniques including Western blotting, tissue culture, flow cytometry, qPCR, RNA extraction, and in vitro experiments </li><li>Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory work, experiments, and database. </li><li>Ensure that work areas are clean and organized and present a safe environment. </li><li>Completion of all trainings related to work in a timely manner, including animal usage, handling hazardous material, laboratory safety. </li><li>Friendliness and collaborative spirit are vital </li></ul> <p>Minimum Job Requirements:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in biology or other relevant biomedical area but preference to be given to candidates with higher educational degree </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in vascular biology or immunology </li><li>Expert level experience with research methodology </li><li>Prior work with mouse models </li><li>Multicolor flow cytometry and sorting </li><li>Western blotting </li><li>qPCR </li><li>ELISAs </li></ul> <p>Skills required:</p> <ul> <li>Critical thinking skills </li><li>Organized and meticulous note taking </li><li>Ability to read and analyze literature pertaining to the field </li><li>Ability to use Microsoft excel, GraphPad prism or equivalent </li></ul> <p>Non-Discrimination Policy</p> <p>Hospital for Special Surgery is committed to providing high quality care and skilled, compassionate, reliable service to our community in a safe and healing environment.
