<p>Overview</p> <p>Kimley-Horn is looking for Engineering students to join our Denver, Colorado (CO) office! This is not a remote position.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients. </li><li>Contribute to the pre-construction on high voltage transmission line projects that utilize both structural and civil skill-sets. Projects may include steel lattice towers, steel monopoles, reinforced concrete foundations, and 3D modeling of power lines for public utilities and private developers. </li><li>Learn and operate Powerline System's in PLS-CADD software for 3D modeling of powerlines. Within the software, calculate and verify code-required clearances are met and perform finite-element analysis of transmission structures. Produce drawings and calculations for review and submittal to clients. </li><li>Learn and operate FAD Tools or LPile software to perform calculations for different foundation designs for powerlines. Utilize geotechnical report and PLS-CADD model to verify requirements for project foundations and produce construction plans. </li><li>Prepare high voltage transmission line plans, specifications and estimates for clients </li><li>Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients' visions for the future built environment. </li><li>Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations pertinent to transmission line engineering, as well as Kimley-Horn's and our client's practices, procedures, and standards. </li><li>Structural Interns will learn one or more software programs: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, Microstation, PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, FAS Tools, LPile, and/or GIS </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in one of the following majors: </li><li>Civil and/or Environmental Engineering </li><li>Structural Engineering </li><li>Mechanical Engineering </li><li>Engineering Technology </li></ul> <p>Hourly Range:</p> <ul> <li>$26-$30 </li></ul> <p>Why Kimley-Horn?</p> <p>At Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
