<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The CREC Academy of Science and Innovation 6-12 (ASI) seeks a highly committed and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join a team of educators who fully believe that every student can and must learn at high levels.</p> <p>Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:</p> <p>Curriculum and instruction</p> <ul> <li>Develop and execute daily lesson plans to ensure student mastery of specific, measurable and ambitious objectives </li><li>Plan a program of study that complements and meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students </li><li>Create and execute long-term plans in conjunction with other school faculty to ensure mastery of grade-level standards </li><li>Work with students below, at, and above grade level to ensure that all students are learning and achieving at the highest level possible </li><li>Ensure that all IEPs and student needs are met both within and outside of the classroom </li></ul> <p>Data, reflection, and continued learning</p> <ul> <li>Administer school-wide interim assessments in order to track student achievement </li><li>Collaborate with school leaders and grade level team to use data to drive instructional practices to constantly improve student achievement and instruction </li><li>Hold oneself accountable for the achievement and growth of all students </li><li>Seek to constantly develop and improve teaching practices through ongoing feedback conversations with school leaders and other school faculty </li></ul> <p>School culture and professionalism</p> <ul> <li>Create and foster a positive learning environment and exhibit positive rapport with students </li><li>Hold high expectations for all students </li><li>Implement the school-wide behavior management system consistently with all students </li><li>Work as part of a team to ensure that the school represents the mission, vision and values of CREC </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and key attributes:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university </li><li>Connecticut Teacher Certificate appropriate for level and/or subject area of assignment (Spanish-023) </li><li>Two years or more of teaching experience is preferred </li><li>Demonstrated significant student achievement results preferred </li><li>Belief that all students can learn at a high level </li><li>Commitment to the vision, mission, values and goals of CREC Schools </li><li>High-level written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Knowledge of state standards, common core and effective pedagogy </li><li>Experience using inquiry-based learning and constructivist methods, including the workshop model for reading and writing. </li><li>Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues </li><li>Ability to use data to inform instruction </li><li>Willingness to be an active member of a professional learning community focused on action research within the school and the classroom </li><li>Prior experience working with diverse populations in a middle school/high school setting preferred </li></ul> <p>To access the job description and salary range please click https://www.crec.org/careers/jobs.php</p> <p>JOB ID 13509 @ CREC: External Job Opportunities | Careers | Hartford, Connecticut</p>
