<p>CAMDEN COUNTY SCHOOLS</p> <p>POSITION DESCRIPTION</p> <p>Student Support and Family Engagement Coordinator</p> <p>Reports to: Chief Auxiliary & Student Services Officer</p> <p>Purpose: Responsible for overseeing and enhancing programs aimed at supporting at-risk students and their families, supervising the alternative learning program, developing and managing dropout prevention initiatives, and engaging community resources. Serves as a key liaison between students, families, school staff, and community partners to ensure a cohesive and inclusive approach to student support and family engagement across Camden County Schools.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of programs including Alternative Learning, At Risk Student Programs, Dropout Prevention and Recovery, and Student Homebound Services. </li><li>Facilitate collaborations with community organizations and stakeholders to enhance engagement and resource availability for students and families. </li><li>Work with school leaders, teachers, and district administrators to integrate student support services and family engagement into broader educational goals and practices. </li><li>Identify grant opportunities and other funding sources to support program initiatives; oversee the application and management of grants related to student support and engagement. </li><li>Provide ongoing training and resources for school staff on effective strategies for working with at-risk students, and engaging families in the educational process. </li><li>Lead professional development workshops and informational sessions for parents and community members to foster understanding and cooperation. </li><li>Serve as the primary contact for families, educators, and community partners concerning student support programs. </li><li>Develop and maintain communication channels that promote transparency and collaboration between the school district and the community. </li><li>Monitor and report on the progress of supported programs and initiatives, using data to drive decisions and improvements. </li><li>Ensure accurate and timely reporting of program outcomes to district leadership and regulatory agencies as required. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or Chief Auxiliary & Student Services Officer. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple programs and initiatives effectively. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on collaborative and persuasive communication. </li><li>Proficiency in data analysis and data-driven decision-making. </li><li>Deep understanding of the legal and practical aspects of Section 504 compliance. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to engage and build partnerships with community organizations. </li><li>Serve as the primary contact for military families and connect military families to school and community resources. </li><li>Coordinate Purple Star activities and resources. </li></ul> <p>Training and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. </li><li>Minimum of five years of experience in an educational or community service setting, with a focus on at-risk populations. </li></ul> <p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>____</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>Term of Employment: 12 Months</p> <p>FLSA Status: Non-Exempt</p> <p>Salary Grade: NC09 ($3,131 - $5,480 per month based on training</p> <p>and experience)</p> <p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>____</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>May 2024</p> <p>April 2026</p> <p>Camden County Board of Education, Camden, NC 27921</p>
