<p>$500 Sign on Bonus! Shopko Optical is seeking a Production Lead to join our team at our manufacturing facility in De Pere, Wisconsin.</p> <p>At our proprietary lab in De Pere, WI, we manufacture quality eyewear for our eye care center patients at over 140 locations across the North and Midwest. With a focus on continuous improvement, we are always looking for motivated and innovative people that want to help us optimize the production and distribution of this process.</p> <p>As part of our manufacturing team, you will have access to state-of-the-art lens processing and finishing equipment to efficiently produce high-quality eyewear to keep our patients seeing their best.</p> <p>Enjoy on-the-job training in a clean and comfortable work environment and benefits working 1st shift, 401k with match, and paid time off.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production teammates within the Coating Department. Serve as the technical lead for the area. Be the expert on efficient operation of all equipment in the department. Key focus with their team to achieve quality, productivity, and turnaround goals.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>OPERATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Plan, organize, direct and control the work of staff in order to meet quality, productivity and turnaround goals in the Coating Department </li><li>Interact with Production Manager - Coating to coordinate efforts and communicate effectively with teammates. </li><li>Monitor processes to ensure quality checks are carried out and develop countermeasures to correct defects </li><li>Use problem solving techniques to proactively address issues or concerns within the department. Elevate to Production Manager - Coating for resolution when appropriate </li><li>Communicate using troubleshooting boards in each Coating room </li><li>Review jobs to determine if they meet Optical Lab standards </li><li>Troubleshoot all equipment issues to achieve resolution and determine the need to engage Maintenance Team </li><li>Perform production duties alongside Coating Department teammates </li></ul> <p>TRAINING AND IMPROVEMENT</p> <ul> <li>Ensure teammates have received applicable training to perform all aspects of their job including equipment operations/work and safety procedures as outlined in their respective job description </li><li>Provide manager with input for teammate's performance reviews and development plans </li><li>Partner with teammates in Coating Department to give performance feedback </li><li>Recommend or implement measures to motivate teammates and to improve morale, production methods, efficiency, equipment performance, productivity, and </li></ul> <p>product quality</p> <p>MAINTAIN SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <ul> <li>Ensure teammates follow all Optical Lab and company policies and adhere to </li></ul> <p>safety related guidelines</p> <ul> <li>Complete accident reports and follow accident communication procedures </li><li>Perform stretching before reporting to workstation </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>High School Graduate or equivalent </li><li>Minimum 2 years of previous related experience in optical (eyewear) </li></ul> <p>manufacturing, retail, or other relevant leadership experience</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated hands on leadership capability </li><li>Exceptional organizational skills </li><li>Sound decision-making ability </li><li>Professional written and oral communication skills </li><li>Interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to problem solve in a professional and timely manner </li><li>Analytical skills </li><li>Detail oriented </li><li>Self-motivated </li><li>Ability to multi-task and prioritize </li><li>Time management skills </li><li>Ability to troubleshoot in a production environment </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written </li></ul> <p>and two-way verbal communication</p> <ul> <li>Able to read and write at a high school graduate level </li><li>Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time </li><li>Able to operate various Optical Lab equipment and office equipment </li><li>Demonstrate physical agility (bending, climbing, twisting, squatting, lifting, pushing, </li></ul> <p>reaching, etc.) on a repetitive basis</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift an average of 25-35 pounds on a repetitive basis </li><li>Ability to see (Near, Distance, Color, and Depth Perception) </li><li>Manual and finger dexterity, as well as hand/arm steadiness </li><li>Ability to grip and hold items </li><li>Good eye and hand coordination </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment </li><li>Ability to perform work in various departments within the lab based on business </li></ul> <p>needs</p> <ul> <li>Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours </li></ul> <p>to meet established deadlines</p> <ul> <li>Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal </li></ul> <p>development</p> <p>These statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed</p> <p>by teammates assigned to this job classification.
