<p>Join Our Team as a Provisional Building Inspector</p> <p>The Town of Hilton Head Island is seeking a Provisional Building Inspector to conduct inspections within the limitations of their state license, of residential or commercial construction projects to ensure compliance with building codes, laws, and regulations.</p> <p>What You Will Do</p> <ul> <li>Conduct inspection of residential construction projects for compliance with all Building, Plumbing, Electrical, and Mechanical Codes </li><li>Interpret codes and regulations and explains permit and compliance conditions </li><li>Document and maintain complete and accurate records of all inspections and any regulatory actions taken </li><li>Confer with and provide information regarding code requirements to developers, engineers, architects, property owners, the public, and other interested parties as required </li><li>Address any complaints or problems from concerned parties, and take appropriate measures to ensure resolution </li><li>Investigate complaints regarding unauthorized or non-compliant construction, and issues "stop work orders" as necessary </li><li>Compare "as-builts" of completed development with the approved plans and works with Code Enforcement Officers if the "as-builts" are not in compliance with the approve plans </li><li>Initiate inspection and enforcement of potential LMO violations and provides demonstrative evidence or expert testimony as required </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent </li><li>One year of technical training or construction experience </li><li>Valid Driver's license </li><li>Must acquire State Residential Inspector registration within the State allotted timeframe (12, 24, 36, or 48 months of hire) </li></ul> <p>What We Offer</p> <ul> <li>A comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, a healthcare reimbursement arrangement, and generous matching 401(k) plan </li><li>Training and certifications fees are covered </li><li>Relocation assistance is available </li></ul> <p>Why Work with Us?</p> <ul> <li>Impactful Work: Be at the forefront of projects that significantly enhance our community's infrastructure and quality of life </li><li>Collaborative Environment: Work with a talented team of dedicated professionals committed to innovation and excellence </li><li>Excellent Benefits: Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that supports your well-being and professional growth </li><li>Community-Centric Focus: Engage with community members and stakeholders to ensure projects meet the needs and expectations of our residents </li></ul> <p>Join us in making Hilton Head Island an even better place to live, work, and play!</p> <p>The Town of Hilton Head Island is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
