This position will also assist Leads as needed to execute paperwork and assist public safety employees as needed. In addition, ensure compliance with security access procedures at all assigned areas providing access to the secured area of the airport. This individual is responsible for the enforcement of FAA security regulations specifically related to FAR 107.13 and 107.14</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain a thorough understanding of 14 CFR Parts 139 and 49 CFR Parts 1500, 1520, 1540, 1542, and 1544.</p> </li><li> <p>Plans, organizes, and directs the work of employees engaged in operating the Public Safety and Security office.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises direct reports, sets goals, ensures training requirements are achieved, monitors and approves leave time and timecard requests of three plus (3+) direct reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide oversight and direction to direct reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Coach, counsel, mentor, and develop direct reports, including oversight of performance reviews and providing career development planning and opportunities.</p> </li><li> <p>Empower direct reports to take responsibility for their job and goals, delegating responsibility and expecting regular feedback and accountability.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead direct reports to regularly exercise the organization's five (5) Strategic Pillars of Customer Service, Economic Development, Stability & Sustainability, Workforce Development, and Community Engagement.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and manages the department budget.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversees private security contract that needs to be provided by the [6] airport-approved security companies ensuring compliance.</p> </li><li> <p>Works with police to develop security plans for traffic management and special events</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to recognize airport-issued credentials by approved access area</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with access control procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate clearly and concisely via radio</p> </li><li> <p>Understand FAA pertinent regulations, airport operations, and layout</p> </li><li> <p>Provide courteous service, directions, or information to the public and others as necessary</p> </li><li> <p>Observe for security violations, unusual situations, hazardous conditions, and congestion problems</p> </li><li> <p>Perform duties and tasks at the discretion of the Division Chief, Special Operations, or his/her designee</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with emergencies, including, but not limited to, an injured person in the terminal, and airport security breaches</p> </li><li> <p>Complete all necessary paperwork and related reports concerning assisted events</p> </li><li> <p>Ongoing training with police and fire department</p> </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Associate of Science Degree from an accredited institution or a combination of education and work experience providing equivalence of skillset needed:</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in data entry and ability to understand and apply computer data entry documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of MS Office products.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to make mathematical computations.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to deal tactfully with others.</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of two (2) years of experience supervising direct reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Firefighter, Law enforcement, or military experience is a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with individuals and agencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to organize and prioritize assignments.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to perform duties in a timely and efficient manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to conform to a flexible work schedule that may include irregular and varied days, hours, weekends, holidays, and emergency call back and work at field locations.</p> </li><li> <p>Successful completion of criminal history records check and security threat assessment is required.</p> </li><li> <p>Education and experience that provides knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the duties of this position</p> </li><li> <p>Two to three (2-3) years of facility safety experience is a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to perform physical and cognitive tasks identified in the job description</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience in dealing directly with the public</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Trained to Firefighter 1 and 2 or ability to complete the training is a plus</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred State of Indiana certification -
