We continue to leverage our core strengths in both the commodity grain and fertilizer industries to strategically grow while remaining committed to a legacy of success to become the most nimble and innovative North American ag supply chain company.</p> <p>Grain Operations Supervisors at The Andersons, Inc. are an integral component of the ag supply chain by leading the day-to-day management of our grain facilities. Our management teams consist of leaders who are committed to establishing and promoting a culture of safety amongst team members across the United States and Canada. Individuals in these roles also possess key skills of a disciplined safety mindset, hands-on leadership, and overall knowledge of asset management.</p> <p>To guide the learning and development of college students interested in pursuing a career as a leader in a grain operations facility, The Andersons has built a management trainee program. All individuals in the Grain Operations Supervisor Trainee Program receive a broad and hands-on experience in all aspects of grain operations, including but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Operations performance </li><li>Inventory management </li><li>Team development and leadership </li><li>Grain elevator safety </li><li>Elevator financials </li></ul> <p>All individuals are required to complete multiple rotations within our North America based asset locations over the course of 12-18 months based on business needs and performance.</p> <p>Day to Day Responsibilities of Grain Operations Supervisor Trainees include:</p> <ul> <li>Motivate, train, develop, and lead team of hourly personnel at facility </li><li>Partner with merchandising team to coordinate all transportation and maintenance needs for the facility to ensure on-time deliveries </li><li>Develop knowledge of product quality, quantity, and inventories </li><li>Establish, promote, and enforce a culture of safety amongst a diverse team </li><li>Develop leadership skills to provide a base knowledge for future management opportunities </li></ul> <p>For the Grain Operations Supervisor Trainee program, we are looking for individuals who meet the following requirements:</p> <ul> <li>A Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Engineering, or Business Management, or related field </li><li>One year of relevant work experience or internships </li><li>Fluent in English, knowledge of second language is a plus </li><li>Willingness to travel and flexibility to relocate </li><li>Demonstrate leadership ability and ability to influence others </li><li>Self-starter who is highly motivated with the ability to develop creative solutions </li><li>Able to work independently and in a team environment </li><li>Experience in customer service and able to proactively identify and resolve issues </li><li>Excellent written and verbal skills and detail-oriented in the areas that require analysis </li></ul> <p>Note: The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed, but are not to be seen as a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.
