As a nurturing university community, we challenge students, faculty, staff, and administration to fully realize their highest academic, professional, and personal potential.</p> <p>The Director of Library Services is the chief administrator for the Hoffman Family Library at Goodwin University. This position reports directly to the Provost's office and is responsible for successful administration of the Library in accordance with all properly authorized policies and procedures. The Director also leads outreach and engagement by defining and communicating the role of the Library within the broader academic community. The Director also advocates for resources necessary to achieve the library's mission and goals, enhance existing resources, and supports the function and growth of Library services.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:</p> <p>(The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.)</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the day-to-day management of Library personnel, policies, and procedures, including. </li><li>Manage all aspects of the Library systems. </li><li>Prepare, present, and manage the operational budget for the Library. </li><li>Hire, supervise, and evaluate all Library staff (professional, clerical, and student employees). </li><li>Approve staff schedule and payroll needs. </li><li>Plan and direct the goals, objectives, and operations the Library </li><li>Analyze information on the effectiveness and efficiency of the Library and recommend operating policies and procedures. </li><li>Prepare regular statistical reports for University administration. </li><li>Participate in the selection and evaluation of Library materials through consultation with program directors, faculty, and staff members, as well as independent analysis. </li><li>Maintain daily contact with staff regarding systems/operations and how best to support students and faculty. </li><li>Troubleshoot system equipment problems and provides guidance to system users. </li><li>Prepare, monitor, and report on the annual budget the Library </li><li>Serve as the designee for the Library on Library matters such as relevant professional, state, and regional accrediting and regulatory agencies. </li><li>Collaborate with all academic deans and program directors on shared programming, instruction, facilities, and other relevant areas. </li><li>Manage and maintain vendor relations. </li><li>Works to continually improve the academic resources of the Library </li><li>Attend meetings and participate in professional Library organizations; represent the University at Library associations. </li><li>Create an environment that facilitates scholarly activity. </li><li>Promote an organizational and educational climate that embraces inclusivity. </li><li>Delegate authority to others for specific administrative tasks </li></ul> <p>Other Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Perform similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates. </li><li>Continue professional development and training;
