<p>The School Health Program of the Metro Public Health Department is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to work in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.  This is your chance to work in a program that supports our Metro Nashville Public Schools by providing nursing services to the students of Nashville and Davidson County. </p> <p> </p> <p>This Public Health Nurse position will work the Metro Nashville/Davidson County Schools Schedule  Plus the Metro Schools Summer Programming schedule.</p> <p>If you have any questions please contact MPHD HR at (615)-340-5640</p> <ul> <li>Provides nursing services in Metro Nashville/Davidson County Schools. </li><li>Evaluates the health needs of students attending assigned schools. </li><li>Provides or arranges for selected screenings and assessments. </li><li>Provides care coordination/case management. </li><li>Provides generalized health services. </li><li>Implements medication distribution system. </li><li>Maintains student health records. </li><li>Performs related duties. </li><li>Licensed or eligible for RN licensure in Tennessee.  </li><li>Diploma or Associate's Degree in nursing. Candidates with Diploma or Associate's Degree in nursing must establish a documented ability to competently perform all functions of this classification to be considered. Bachelor's degree from a state-approved school of nursing preferred. </li><li>All public health nurses are required to complete a department approved Certificate in Public Health as a condition of continued employment. Possess required competencies upon hiring. </li><li>Valid class "D" driver's license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law.  </li></ul> <p>Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply, however at the present time MPHD is not sponsoring individuals through any of the US Governments employment-based immigration programs.</p> <p> </p> <p>MPHD seeks to be a socially and culturally responsive organization that acknowledges and addresses historical and current inequities in our public health promotion and practice.
