<p>Overview</p> <p>Companion-Patient Safety</p> <p>Job Code: 22855</p> <p>FLSA Status</p> <p>Job Family: Nursing</p> <p>Job Description Title: Companion-Patient Safety</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Patient Safety Companion will remain with a patient for a designated timeframe to maintain the patient's safety (i.e. prevention of falls, wandering or disruptions of patient care).</p> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Be a pleasant and supportive companion.</p> <p>Report any unusual incidents.</p> <p>Remain with assigned patient at all time.</p> <p>Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency, escalating for the appropriate response.</p> <p>Assist with ambulation/toileting/transportation.</p> <p>Performs direct patient care duties as assigned under the direction of licensed nursing personnel.</p> <p>Perform duties in a manner that is consistent with established policies and procedures.</p> <p>Provide patient safety.</p> <p>Document in the electronic medical record.</p> <p>Participates in ongoing educational activities.</p> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Specifications</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Minimum Required: 1 year work experience</p> <p>Preferred/Desired: 1 year work experience withing healthcare setting</p> <p>Education</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Minimum Required: Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency.
