We invite you to become part of Connecticut's most comprehensive healthcare network.</p> <p>The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.</p> <p>With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Financial Analyst position serves as a resource to units within Hartford Healthcare by providing financial data that informs analysis and guidance. The role collaborates with teammates and business leaders to support the preparation and implementation of financial planning that may include: financial analysis, creation of annual operating costs, capital budgets, forecasting, business plan development support and required financial reporting. The role will build and apply competencies within the financial reporting and planning spectrum, in order to inform insightful analysis between leadership and finance.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities:</p> <p>Key areas of responsibility</p> <p>Performs cost and financial analysis of data extracted from various internal sources. Prepares reports based on findings, that may include health care costs, provider contracts, debt capacity, revenue and profitability.</p> <p>Assists with preparation and financial planning processes, including budget review for compliance and identification of cost-saving opportunities.</p> <p>Develops profit & loss reports for current and proposed lines of business with assigned areas.</p> <p>Forecasting - may support periodic short- and long-term financial forecasting, statistical reporting and re-forecasting of financial statements and budgets as required.</p> <p>Supports the creation and implementation of recovery plans in coordination with the function lead and service line managers in the event a department is under-performing against financial targets.</p> <p>Complete special reports as requested, provide financial data for reports/surveys as needed, and assist leadership in understanding/interpreting financial reporting.</p> <p>Takes responsibility for self-improvement, in collaboration with manager, by identifying, communicating and seeking resources or instructions for continuous learning and development.</p> <p>Working Relationship:</p> <p>This Job Reports To (Job Title): Finance or Business Unit leadership</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Minimum: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field. </li><li>Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Finance </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum: two years' experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or accounting related experience </li><li>Preferred: </li></ul> <p>o Healthcare Finance</p> <p>o Experience creating end user reports</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Strong Excel skills, including the ability to organize data, enter formulas, and create reports </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Strong general technology knowledge </li><li>Ability to provide support to multiple users with varying needs and tasks </li><li>Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders & internal customers </li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills </li></ul> <p>We take great care of careers.</p> <p>With locations around the state, Hartford HealthCare offers exciting opportunities for career development and growth.
