<p>As a strategic leader, the Senior Director, Executive Compensation shapes and advances executive pay programs that support business performance, leadership excellence, and long-term enterprise growth. In this role, you will guide the design and governance of executive compensation programs that are competitive, market-aligned, and built to inspire high performance across senior leadership. You will partner with Senior HR, Finance, Legal, and Governance leaders to deliver thoughtful, data-driven solutions that reinforce our commitment to responsible, future-ready reward strategies.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead the strategy, design, and delivery of executive compensation programs-including annual incentives, long-term incentives, and total compensation frameworks-ensuring strong alignment to business goals and talent needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee equity strategy, grant processes, performance metrics, and long-term value creation through effective incentive plan design.</p> </li><li> <p>Guide governance and compliance activities, partnering with Legal and Corporate Governance on SEC requirements, tax rules, disclosures, and pay-for-performance analysis.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare materials and insights for the Board's People Resources Committee, including program updates, competitive market analyses, and recommendations.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor external trends, investor expectations, regulatory changes, and market dynamics to inform program evolution and ensure competitiveness.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead executive compensation benchmarking, modeling, and analytics to drive data-based decision-making.</p> </li><li> <p>Mentor and lead a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, capability building, and a culture of excellence.</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with HRBPs, Talent Management, Finance, Legal, and external consultants to deliver seamless executive compensation processes and solutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee operational execution of compensation cycles, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timely delivery.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>10+ years of experience in executive compensation or total rewards, including leadership responsibilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Expertise in executive compensation plan design, analytics, governance, and market practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge of SEC regulations, equity compensation, tax requirements, and disclosure standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience preparing materials for or partnering with Board committees.</p> </li><li> <p>Exceptional analytical skills, business acumen, and executive presence.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence senior leaders.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree preferred; advanced degree such as JD or MBA a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>CCP or CECP certification.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in a large, publicly traded, global organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience across broader Rewards or HR disciplines-such as broad-based compensation, mergers & acquisitions, HR operations, or benefits-is valued and can further enhance success in this role.</p> </li></ul> <p>Leadership Competencies</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business goals into compensation solutions</p> </li><li> <p>Sound judgment and discretion</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work effectively in matrixed environments</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to inclusion, collaboration, and high performance culture</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates positive, people centered leadership that inspires collaboration and fosters a supportive team culture</p> </li></ul> <p>Travel may be needed based upon the priorities of the role.</p> <p>If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.</p> <p>About The Cigna Group</p> <p>Doing something meaningful starts with a simple decision, a commitment to changing lives.
