Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).</p> <p>MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Direct and coordinate company month and year-end close functions (GAAP basis). </li><li>Oversee daily operations of the Finance Department. Responsibilities include Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Billing, Fixed Assets, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Sales and Use Tax, General Ledger Accounting, Financial Reporting (Balance Sheet, P&L, Statement of Cash Flows, Forecast, Capital Expenditures, Sales and Margin Reporting), Full Cost profitability models, Treasury and Risk Management, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Attendance, Forecasting. </li><li>Cost Accounting variance analysis and reporting. </li><li>Cost Accounting Standard Cost Rate development and implementation. </li><li>Product Costing. </li><li>Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against forecast/budget. </li><li>Prepare financial analysis on as needed basis. </li><li>All General Ledger (Balance Sheet and P&L) including all other financial reconcilements. </li><li>Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements. </li><li>Establish and implement departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. </li><li>Ensure Accounting policies and procedures are established and followed by the company. </li><li>Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives. </li><li>Direct external financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer. </li><li>Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff. </li><li>Provide accounting policy orientation for the company. </li><li>Support the Navision financial software functionality. </li><li>Accounting literature research (GAAP), memo writing and implementation. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>A. Required-Degree in Accounting and Finance. Prior Controller/Manager/Director experience. Knowledge of GAAP and capable of researching accounting literature. Undergraduate Degree must be from an AACSB accredited 4-year institution.</p> <p>B. Preferred Additional-Operations or manufacturing experience. MBA, MAcc or CPA preferred.</p> <p>CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including: </li><li>Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis. </li><li>Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. </li><li>Masters Degree in Finance or Accounting, or MBA, three to five years of experience in a manager/director level finance or accounting position. </li><li>Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule beyond 40 hours per week. </li></ul>
