<p>At Hord Family Farms, our success relies on our people and processes. We're currently seeking a Director of Safety and Compliance to join our leadership team to help us embed a culture of safety across our organization, from swine production to feed milling and crop farming. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in safety and/or agriculture, including 3 years in leadership. Strong knowledge of health and safety standards, experience with DOT compliance, and experience facilitating incident investigations is preferred; along with solid organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. A focus on continuous improvement and fostering trusted relationships at all levels of the organization is key to thriving in this role.</p> <p>Who We Are:</p> <p>The Hord family is in its 5th generation of family farming, with over 100 years of farming heritage. Headquartered in North Central Ohio and having satellite locations in Pennsylvania and Minnesota, Hord Farms is a pig, cow, and grain farm. Collectively, we market over 1.3 million pigs per year. We strive to raise our animals with care and utilize modern and advanced farming practices to be efficient and sustainable.</p> <p>A Day in the Life:</p> <ul> <li>Champion safety as a fundamental part of company culture, prioritizing it throughout each organizational level and acting as the main safety advocate through visibility and on-going communication. </li><li>Build strong cross-departmental relationships to enhance collaboration. </li><li>Develop and execute safety training and continuous improvement plans, utilizing effective written, visual, and verbal methods. </li><li>Read and interpret technical documents and regulations to ensure on-going compliance and create a robust, health-conscious work environment. </li><li>Conduct thorough risk assessments and audits of operations and maintenance activities with respect to safety and loss control, identifying trends and making corrective recommendations. </li><li>Define and solve problems involving a variety of both abstract and concrete variables. </li><li>Maintain meticulous records of all safety-related activities. </li><li>Full-time position, 45 hours per week, with travel to various job sites as needed. </li></ul> <p>What You Need:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or higher in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, Agriculture, or a related field preferred </li><li>A collaborative style and relationship-building skills with strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities </li><li>High level of detail, self-motivation, and organization to achieve quality results, with the ability to manage a variety of key initiatives concurrently </li><li>Ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism </li><li>Proven record of reliability and a desire to excel, with a clean motor vehicle record and commitment to utilizing and maintaining appropriate personal protective equipment as required </li><li>Proven experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook </li></ul> <p>Your Rewards:</p> <ul> <li>Competitive wages based on level of experience </li><li>Company-provided work vehicle when travel is needed, technology, and HORD apparel gear </li><li>PTO: 10 vacation days, 5 personal days and 6 recognized holidays to start </li><li>Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance (starting at less than $30/pay) </li><li>401(k) with company match </li></ul> <p>We look forward to talking to you more in-depth about the opportunities at HORD!</p>
