Full Time Shift Day Work Schedule Summary VP Area U of U Health - Academics Department 00213 - CVRTI Location Campus City Salt Lake City, UT Type of Recruitment External Posting Pay Rate Range 20.00 to 28.00 Close Date 08/08/2025 Priority Review Date (Note - Posting may close at any time) Job Summary</p> <p>The Research Operations Specialist is responsible for managing operating room operations, facilities maintenance, and safety compliance. This role combines technical expertise with hands-on support to ensure the facilities are maintained and seamless pre-clinical research activities, safety standards, and equipment upkeep.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Manage operating room schedules, calendars, and pre-clinical research preparation. </li><li>Oversee inventory, medical supplies, and equipment certifications. </li><li>Maintain bio-waste disposal and radiation user permits and audits </li><li>Responsible for OR inspections (such as IACUC, AAALAC, OSHA) including working with upper management on pre-inspection preparation, post-inspection review, and deficiency report documentation. </li><li>Plan emergency responses and implement fire prevention and hazardous waste management. </li><li>Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, conduct safety audits, and address hazards. </li><li>Perform light maintenance (e.g., carpentry, HVAC, electrical) and coordinate contractors as needed. </li><li>Assist with internal moves, furniture arrangements, large equipment deliveries, and retirement/ disposal of outdated equipment. </li><li>Assist with yearly capital equipment inventory audit. </li><li>Maintain shared Institute lab equipment. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>High School graduate or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and four years experience in electronic and/or pneumatic control systems.</p> <p>Preferences Type Benefited Staff Special Instructions Summary Additional Information</p> <p>The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems ("URS").
