<p>SHEET METAL FABRICATOR -- 2nd SHIFT</p> <p>Metals USA -- Gregor Technologies Division is seeking a SHEET METAL UTILITY WORKER in Torrington, CT. Metals USA is a solid, growth oriented aluminum/stainless steel distribution center servicing the defense, aerospace and fabrication industries.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Sets up metal fabricating support equipment such as Pemsert, DA grinders and Timesaver as needed. </li><li>Operates fabrication equipment using MIG and TIG welding machinery. Uses a variety of hand tools as required. </li><li>Inspects and tests welds & equipment constantly. Checks for durability as well as meeting specified standards. </li><li>Fabricates/Assembles the parts to the industrial customer specifications ensuring quality products. </li><li>Applies knowledge of assembly to perform sheet metal fabrication. </li><li>Deburrs, sands and polish finished materials. </li><li>Completes production paperwork, follows shop systems/procedures and follows inspections procedures daily. </li><li>Inspects and measures finished products and compares to the requirements to determine if the process was completed properly. </li><li>Performs daily maintenance and inspection of equipment to ensure functionality. </li><li>Two-year technical degree and/or apprenticeship in sheet metal fabrication or welding </li><li>Prior experience with all types of welding to include MIG & TIG </li><li>Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, documents and blueprints. </li><li>Ability to read measuring instruments such as measuring tapes, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and gauges </li><li>Computer Literacy with understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM </li></ul> <p>Metals USA offers a competitive starting hourly rate $22.00 - $24.00 plus shift differential and benefits plus upward mobility professional growth.</p> <p>Metals USA is committed to protecting our employees by creating and maintaining a workplace free of substance abuse.</p> <p>"Metals USA provides equal employment opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability."</p>
