We offer a great benefits package that includes 12 paid holidays, insurance and flexible benefits, ample annual and sick leave accrual, flexible work schedules, an Employee Assistance Program, Wellness Initiatives, an optional 457 defined contribution retirement savings plan and more.</p> <p>Click here for more information on benefits</p> <p>If you want to be a part of this innovative team, apply today.</p> <p>Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Will function as a General Permit Team Supervisor and require managing and issuing / reissuing / modifying water pollution control general permits. </li><li>Review and process water pollution control permit applications for wastewater disposal systems, with emphasis on wastewater discharge permitting to ensure compliance with State and Federal Pollution Control Laws and Regulations, as well as consistency with sound engineering practices. </li><li>Evaluate proposed engineering designs, plans, and landfill volume calculations to write a permit that meets the criteria required by State and Federal Rules. </li><li>Have knowledge of pollution control methods or the ability to garner that knowledge within a reasonable timeframe. </li><li>Draft general permits, reports and correspondence. </li><li>Prepare public notice documents for consideration and signature by the Division Director. </li><li>Field work involves the review of construction and operation of a wastewater treatment system. </li><li>May accompany inspectors and/or permittees to associated wastewater treatment facilities for the purpose of acquiring knowledge of the operation. </li><li>Ability to communicate with applicants, permittees and the public. </li><li>May represent the Division as a subject matter expert before Boards or Courts of Jurisdiction. If necessary, may be required to testify on behalf of the State. </li><li>Will serve as a staff specialist in the area of solid waste management. </li><li>May occasionally travel outside the area of assignment to attend training, meetings, or to visit solid waste management facilities. To receive an email notice anytime jobs in this or other categories are posted, you may choose to complete aJob Interest Cardfrom the slide-out menu located at the top left of ourJob Opportunitiespage.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Training:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Engineering.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Substitution:Bachelor's degree from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited college or university with a major in Civil, Electrical, Electrical Design, Mechanical, Chemical or Mining Engineering Technology.</p> <p>AND</p> <p>Experience:Seven (7) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in engineering.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Substitution:Master's degree in engineering may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.</p> <p>Special Requirement:A valid driver's license is required.</p> <ul> <li>The Division of Personnel uses your complete work history to qualify you for positions.
