<p>Associate Manager, Press</p> <p>Gannett Publishing Services</p> <p>Canton, OH</p> <p>The Associate Press Manager is responsible is responsible for day to day management of all Pressroom functions to support efficient execution of production operations to achieve and maintain on-time production, product quality standards, low waste, and operational safety.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities: A bulleted list that includes the key responsibilities, tasks and duties of this job; including approximate percentage (%) of time it takes to complete the tasks, not to exceed 100%. You can add or reduce the number of duties depending on the job.</p> <p>Expectations: Responsible for the day to day management of the press and platemaking (CTP) operations to achieve on-time performance including product quality standards, waste goals and operational safety including OSHA & EPA compliance. 40%</p> <p>Pressroom Tasks</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for adhering to an annual budget including monthly/quarterly financial performance (expense & revenue estimates) and reporting compliance and meeting productivity & financial goals. </li><li>Responsible for managing a staff including hiring, scheduling, training, performance, development and handling employee related issues. </li><li>Responsible for production scheduling. </li><li>Responsible for maintaining the day to day operations of the pressroom to ensure quality reproduction and minimum waste through planning and practical implementation of processes. </li><li>Responsible for equipment maintenance and repair </li><li>Responsible for daily reporting of press and pre-press operations as well as responsible for daily data entry into web portal. </li><li>Responsible for newsprint, ink, plates & supply inventories. 35% </li><li>Responsible for managing a staff including conducting performance evaluations, training andhandling employee related issues. 10% </li></ul> <p>Safety</p> <p>Always work in a safe manner and consistently utilize required safety equipment to promote top-of-mind safety awareness:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Assist in leading safety compliance within the department including accident investigations and follow up. </li></ul> <p>Forklift</p> <ul> <li>Report work related injuries to insurance carrier. </li><li>Ensure all machine safety-guards are installed, functioning properly, and in use. </li><li>Immediately report any operational concerns, potential safety hazards and all accidents/injuries and near misses to press manager. </li></ul> <p>Communications</p> <ul> <li>Provide timely & accurate reports and information to the operations team & management. </li><li>Responsible for communication regarding equipment repairs and/or consumable materials. </li><li>Communicate scheduling needs to press management and supervisors. </li></ul> <p>An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.
