Through school-community collaborations, Amigos strives to provide quality out-of-school-time programs that foster linguistic and cultural connections.</p> <p>The Opportunity:</p> <p>The Amigos School seeks to hire a JK-8 Bilingual Instructional Technology Specialist to join our diverse, committed, and passionate community. This individual will be responsible for direct teaching and working collaboratively with teachers and families to support a high-quality educational technology experience.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Teaching and Learning</p> <ul> <li>Teach weekly technology classes for grades 1-6; ensuring that technology skills are systematically taught and integrated across all grade levels, aligned with both the MA Digital Literacy & Computer Science Framework and the unique needs of a bilingual environment </li><li>Collaborate with teachers and other instructional staff to develop curriculum that effectively integrates technology </li><li>Collaborate with teachers to find and implement technology tools that support dual language learning strategies, such as translation features, bilingual content creation tools, and platforms for multilingual collaboration. </li><li>Participate in grade-level activities and meetings, school-wide events and district department meetings and initiatives </li><li>Evaluate, select, and model appropriate technology tools to support instruction in Spanish and English </li><li>Design, teach, and support professional development opportunities for staff pertaining to the effective use of educational technology </li><li>Collaborate with the Library Media Specialist to design integrated projects </li><li>Follow a plan for professional development and actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally </li></ul> <p>Information Access & Delivery</p> <ul> <li>Educate students and staff on the district's Acceptable Use Policy and other related policies and procedures </li><li>Explore, evaluate, and share emerging technologies with staff and students </li><li>Work with the Technology Support Technician to create and maintain student, teacher and staff accounts in a variety of online applications </li><li>Support the implementation of online educational programs offered by the district </li></ul> <p>Program Administration</p> <ul> <li>Support the Technology Support Technician with on site troubleshooting for technical difficulties within the building </li><li>Work with the ICTS department to develop, implement, and update the district Technology Plan and incorporates principles into school technology planning </li><li>Attend regular school and department meetings </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Your Skill Set:</p> <p>As the incoming Instructional Technology Specialist, you will possess many, though perhaps not all, of the following characteristics and qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree or higher in the field of Education with coursework or advanced degree work in the area of Technology Integration in Education. </li><li>Three years of teaching experience or equivalent in the field of technology preferred. </li><li>High levels or native language proficiency in English and Spanish, including listening, speaking, reading, grammar and writing are preferred. </li><li>Familiarity with and appreciation of PK-8 students and their needs, issues and interests; previous and successful experience working in a multicultural urban environment that includes students from diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. </li><li>Knowledge of Google Workspace for Education,Chromebooks, Mac OS and Windows operating systems; online applications such as ClassLink, ST Math, IM Classroom, WeVideo, Typing Club, GoGuardian, PearDeck; experience with projectors and interactive whiteboards, document cameras, and other related educational technology hardware. </li><li>Experience in collaborative group work that focuses on technology integration and information literacy. </li><li>Massachusetts Licensure in Instructional Technology or Digital Literacy & Computer Science required. </li></ul> <p>How to Join Our Team:</p> <p>Please upload a resume and thoughtful cover letter, outlining how your skills, experience, and commitment to equity in education meet the qualifications of the position as well as stating how you heard about this opportunity.</p> <p>At the Cambridge Public Schools, we are committed to cultivating an environment where diverse perspectives and backgrounds are embraced, acknowledging that a team reflecting diversity of race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, age, gender, marital/domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, and veteran status allows us to serve our communities better.
