<p>Job Description</p> <p>Description</p> <p>SAIC is seeking a Engineering Technician I in North Charleston, SC.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly </li><li>Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions </li><li>Construct components, subunits, or simple models, adapt standard equipment, and troubleshoot system failures through various skill methods to correct malfunctions </li><li>Conduct routine repair, retrofit, systems integration, calibration and testing; in-line repair and testing; operation of test equipment </li><li>Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma with zero (0) years of related experience doing any of the following: integration, manufacturing; or maintenance. </li><li>Ability to safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to the following: </li><li>Lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis </li><li>Walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods </li><li>Repeatedly manipulating and handling tools needed for installing electrical components, Mechanical parts and metal work into vehicles. Familiar with the use and operation of power tools is necessary </li><li>Move and arrange cable supplies and electronic equipment </li></ul> <p>Desired Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with cable fabrication </li></ul> <p>Required Clearance:</p> <ul> <li>Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Public Trust security clearance.
