<p>Advanced Math and Science Academy, a college preparatory charter school, is seeking to hire committed, skilled, and inspiring educators. AMSA is committed to preparing all students to succeed in college and beyond. Located in Marlborough, MA, AMSA includes 6th through 12th grade classes. The Advanced Math & Science Academy Charter School is currently accepting applications for a part-time middle school counselor to start on August 18, 2025. This is a .5FTE position.</p> <p>Teachers and Staff Members at Advanced Math and Science Academy will:</p> <ul> <li>Focus intensely on increasing academic achievement, content knowledge, and character growth for all students. </li><li>Create inspiring, challenging, and effective teaching and learning experiences for all our students. </li><li>Be committed to serving all students, including English Language Learners and Students with Disabilities, in the context of the regular education classroom using a variety of inclusion models. </li><li>Contribute to a strong and supportive professional learning community. </li></ul> <p>Job Responsibilities: The Part-Time School Counselor will:</p> <ul> <li>Provide direct academic, social, and personal guidance and support services to students individually, in classrooms, and in large groups. </li><li>Help students to set academic, personal, college and career goals. </li><li>Provide responsive services as needed to address academic, social and emotional concerns. </li><li>Act as 504 Team Leader for eligible students in caseload. </li><li>Monitor students at academic risk and collaborate with teachers and parents to help students create a plan for success. </li><li>Collaborate with middle school counseling team to write curriculum for and teach advisory classes related to social emotional learning and college and career planning. </li><li>Collaborate with school counseling team to deliver timely information via email, and school website. </li><li>Work collaboratively with other staff to implement curriculum and build school culture across the school. </li><li>Participate in summer professional development of up to an additional week (or equivalent time) prior to the start of the school year. </li><li>Work with administration to uphold and support all school policies and procedures. </li><li>Assist in special projects as assigned by Director of School Counseling. </li><li>Other responsibilities as assigned in helping to maintain a safe and orderly school environment, (i.e. traffic and/or lunch duties) </li></ul> <p>Qualifications: Master's degree in Counseling/School Counseling and Massachusetts School Guidance Licensure grades 5-12 are required. Ability to collaborate, work well under pressure, and maintain a sense of humor and humility. Strong counseling skills and ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Minimum 2 years' experience is strongly preferred. Strong commitment to Advanced Math and Science Academy's mission, values, and educational model. Current authorization to work in the United States.
