<p>The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department (PRCR) mission is</p> <p>"Together we connect and enrich our community through exceptional experiences."</p> <p>The PRCR Department plays a leading role in the quality of life and character of the Capital City. With nearly 10,000 acres of land, 220 parks, and 120 miles of greenway trails, the Department provides a wide range of facilities, amenities, and programs that support the social, cultural, mental and physical well-being of citizens. The Department is guided by a comprehensive 20-year System Plan that identifies the overall vision of Bringing People to Parks and Parks to People.</p> <p>The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is seeking candidates that align with the City's values, are team-oriented and leaders with passion and vision for parks and serving the community. The part-time Staff Support Analyst position provides a variety of clerical, technical, and administrative support services to senior managers in the Parks and Natural Resources Division of PRCR.</p> <p>Performs receptionist duties, data entry, document preparation, filing and otherwise relieves staff of clerical work and administrative detail performing the following duties:</p> <ul> <li>Route calls to staff and take messages </li><li>Answer telephones and respond to questions from Parks staff, other city departments and citizens </li><li>Provides customer support by responding to internal and external inquiries and information requests; performs basic research; routes specific requests to appropriate resources </li><li>Perform data entry into spreadsheets and/or department software </li><li>Compose routine correspondence for approval by division staff </li><li>Prepare correspondence from written or verbal instructions including letters, memos, reports, and presentations </li><li>Maintain file system, file correspondence and other records </li><li>Arrange departmental meetings, programs, events or conferences as needed </li><li>Prepares and maintains a variety of complex department-specific reports, databases and presentations in support of department operations </li><li>Assist fulltime staff with financial transactions, financial and operational performance measures </li><li>Coordinates work for special projects and assist by preparing supporting documents, researching issues and information, developing contact lists, summarizing data, interacting with other departments for information or support needed </li><li>Reviews approvals and processes various forms and documents which may include requisitions, vouchers, expense reimbursement requests, payments, work orders, contract documents, invoices, personnel related reports/records, job postings, registrations, renewals, and/or travel and expenditure requests/authorizations, monitors schedules and deadlines for document processing, reconcile statements, routes documents </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <p>High School Diploma or GED and four years office support experience </p> <p>OR</p> <p>An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties as listed above. </p> <p>Knowledge of:</p> <ul> <li>Customer Service principles </li><li>Business math concepts </li><li>Filing and record-keeping principles </li><li>Occupational hazards and applicable safety principles and practices </li><li>Modern office technology </li></ul> <p>Skill in:</p> <ul> <li>Intermediate knowledge of financial or accounting, database, spreadsheet and word processing software </li><li>Composing, editing, and maintaining basic original documents including reports, presentations, and correspondence </li><li>Performing basic original research, compiling and assembling data </li><li>Following directions and meeting standards </li><li>Providing attention to detail in assignments </li><li>Proofreading and error correction </li><li>Exercising confidentiality </li><li>Maintaining and updating data and documentation </li><li>Utilizing a computer and relevant software applications </li><li>Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers and supervisors to efficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work directions </li></ul> <p>This is a year-round, part-time position; work hours not to exceed 20 hours per week during the hours of 7:30am and 4:00pm.</p>
