This position also ensures the continuance of the education program developed by the teacher. The commitment to student success and collaboration with the teaching team will help create an enriching educational atmosphere.</p> <p>Please see attached job description for more details.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School diploma or equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in first aid</p> </li><li> <p>Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in CPR</p> </li><li> <p>Must have or obtain and maintain certificate in LIU-approved crisis management and intervention program, preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Relevant experience working with students in an educational setting</p> </li><li> <p>Patience, flexibility, and positive attitude</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff</p> </li><li> <p>Must complete twenty (20) hours of professional development related to assignment each year (July 1 June 30) to continue employment.</p> </li><li> <p>Must obtain "qualified" status within one (1) year from date of hire</p> </li><li> <p>"Qualified" means meeting a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through a local or state assessment</p> </li><li> <p>Certificate of Competency free of cost and can be acquired on the job OR</p> </li><li> <p>CAPE test</p> </li><li> <p>OR having an associate's degree or higher</p> </li><li> <p>OR having completed 2 years (48 credits) of postsecondary study.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with escalated behaviors, preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment: Full-time, 7 hours/day, 188 days/year (follows traditional school year schedule)</p> <p>Salary: $18.45/hr</p> <ul> <li>The LIU offers a generous benefits package to full-time employees, including: </li><li>Medical (for a nominal premium), dental and vision insurance.
