<p>Job Description:</p> <p>This is a Federal Work Study (FWS) position.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>The Office Assistant receives direct supervision from the Assistant Director of Housing </li><li>Attendance at all staff meetings, workshops, and training programs as specified by residence life personnel is </li><li>mandatory. </li><li>Always be alert while on duty. Monitoring all entry and exit from the office and greet individuals appropriately. </li><li>Report to all desk shifts on time. </li><li>Read and be familiar with all policies and procedures outlined in the Office Assistant manual. Complete all front desk </li><li>related logs accurately, legibly, and completely. </li><li>Be familiar with and abide by all College and departmental policies. </li><li>Be courteous and helpful in all interactions, including telephone conversations. Take complete messages in a professional and legible manner. </li><li>9Adhere to established front desk dress code and expectations. Maintaining a neat and clean appearance at front desk </li><li>always. </li><li>Maintain a positive and open attitude when interacting with staff members, supervisors, public safety, and residents or </li><li>visitors. Assist people who appear to be unfamiliar with the building. </li><li>Notify the area supervisor of suspicious activities or policy violations as they situation dictates. </li><li>Assist with office opening and closing responsibilities. </li><li>Perform specific tasks in priority order (including task assignments) as assigned by the area supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be a Work-Study Eligible Student in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher). </li><li>Have good interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to relate to people. </li><li>Demonstrate good clerical and communication skills. </li><li>Have a flexible schedule to be available for office hours including finals week, opening and closing periods. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Pay Rate: $15.00 /hr </li></ul> <p>To see if you qualify for Federal Work Study (FWS) positions:</p> <ul> <li>Visit OCC's Work-Study page </li><li>Review the Work-Study Checklist </li><li>Submit a Work-Study Interest Form </li></ul> <p>Work Study Aides may work up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session.</p> <ul> <li>Additional hours may be worked during college breaks. </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <ul> <li>To be considered, please submit a resume and provide the days and times you are available to work. </li><li>If you need assistance creating a resume, please contact Career Services at: 315-498-2585. </li><li>You can upload a file with your availability info under "Work Availability" in the job application. </li></ul>
