This position is expected to be in office 5 days a week to start, for training and onboarding with future potential to transition to a more flexible working arrangement based upon performance.</p> <p>A DAY IN THE LIFE:</p> <ul> <li>Proactively manage a pipeline of new and renewal customers through outbound calls, ensuring follow-up from inquiry to order. </li><li>Handle inbound calls to provide support, product information, and start the sales process. </li><li>Follow developed sales scripts and demonstrate basic empathy while listening to patient concerns. </li><li>Communicate with customers using foundational knowledge of pump therapy to highlight core product features. </li><li>Understand and convey basic insurance coverage and co-pay expectations. </li><li>Use CRM to document interactions, guided by reminders and scripts. </li><li>Handle objections by deferring to manager or approved scripts. </li><li>Maintain HIPAA compliance and avoid any disclosure of protected information. </li><li>Know daily targets (calls, connections) and begin tracking performance consistently. </li><li>Manage calls efficiently to meet baseline call volume and conversion metrics. </li><li>Attend required product and compliance training. </li><li>Demonstrate the ability to listen patiently, follow structured workflows, log activity, and ask for help when faced with objections or uncertainty. </li><li>Use team-developed playbooks to prioritize daily tasks and organize call flow, with guidance from supervisors. </li><li></li><li></li></ul> <p>Representative Behaviors and Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Use empathy and active listening when using scripts to guide patient conversations. </li><li>Explain core pump functionality and help patients understand its day-to-day impact. </li><li>Identify insurance types and confirm general coverage details. </li><li>Accurately document call activity with coaching support. </li><li>Communicate clearly using templates and track follow-up activity. </li><li>Support prescriber paperwork with basic documentation knowledge. </li><li>Redirect advanced concerns to managers or mentors. </li><li>Follow HIPAA guidelines and avoid off-label conversation. </li><li>Track personal call and sales metrics with guidance. </li><li>Follow structured work priorities using established daily workflow templates. </li><li></li></ul> <p>WHAT YOU'LL NEED:</p> <ol> <li>Knowledge, skills & abilities: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Knowledge of diabetes, unmet needs of diabetes therapies, and benefits of insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring or other disease management devices/diagnostics desirable. </li><li>Knowledge of durable medical equipment policies, health insurance providers and reimbursement policies as it relates to diabetes supplies preferred. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate over the phone, email, or text with customers to resolve issues and answer questions according to department protocols and requirements. </li><li>Able to apply distinctive phone sales skills and product knowledge to address and alleviate patient concerns and to promote the sale of products. </li><li>Experience documenting calls by typing on a keyboard while speaking to a customer on the phone. </li><li>Effective call handling skills and a proven track record of excellent customer service based on call handling or related metrics. </li><li>Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. </li><li>Able to assert own ideas and persuade others through effectively consolidating, evaluating, and presenting relevant information. </li><li>Skilled at promoting team cooperation and a commitment to team success. </li><li>Adept at seeing change as an opportunity to improve business performance and campaigning for it when necessary. </li><li>Computer competency including MS office, Internet, and navigation of customer relationship management (CRM) systems. </li><li>Knowledge of call handling phone systems is preferred. </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Minimum certifications/educational level: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Minimum experience: </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>1 year recent experience interfacing with customers in a sales support role including a combination of:</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li>Experience in field sales or tele-sales experience in medical device, technology, or similar field. <p></p> </li><li> <p>Experience being accountable for sales quotas in a challenging, fast paced, changing environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in patient diabetes education.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience documenting calls by typing on a keyboard while speaking to a customer on the phone.</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience drafting letters of medical necessity.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of diabetes is required.</p> </li></ul> <p>WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING HERE:</p> <p>At Tandem, we believe joy fuels excellence. Selection for roles will be based on individual merit alone.</p> <p>COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:</p> <p>The base pay for this position is $19.62 - $27.73 per hour plus eligibility for quarterly incentive rewards with a target earning potential of $40,809.60 - $72,678.40 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate's location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package and a robust benefits package.</p> <p>YOU SHOULD KNOW:</p> <p>Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with applicable state and local Fair Chance laws and regulations.
