<p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Two years prior custodial experience preferably in a university environment/residential setting. </li><li>The ability to read directions for the use and/or mixing of various cleaning chemicals and compounds and written instructions. </li><li>Good interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with customers such as students, co-workers, management and parents. </li><li>Performs physically active work requiring frequent standing, reaching, walking, bending, shoveling, pulling, pushing, climbing on a ladder and lifting in order to perform various cleaning and set-up tasks. </li><li>Frequent lifting requiring the execution of up to sixty pounds of force to move and use supplies, use cleaning aids and equipment. </li><li>Works with cleaning chemicals and compounds and polishing materials that may produce strong and/or offensive odors. </li><li>May work in various weather conditions with extremes in heat and cold. </li><li>Completion of physical to verify the applicant's ability to perform the duties of the position. </li><li>Work sample to demonstrate the applicant's ability to perform the duties of the position. </li><li>May require a valid Michigan driver's license acceptable to the University's insurance carrier. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>AV equipment set-up experience is desirable. </li></ul> <p>All Qualifications</p> <p>Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.</p> <p>Position Details Position Purpose</p> <p>To perform cleaning activities and maintain assigned areas in the residential housing buildings and the Oakland Center building.</p> <p>Job Open Date 02/24/2026 Job Close Date</p>
